Sometimes you can get them four for a dollar...:) They're pretty darn cheap.

Any place that sells craft supplies should have embroidery floss. I'm probably going to go to Michael's because it's closest to my house.

So I posted this idea over on the official detroit red wings forum, and got a couple responses from some ladies that like the idea, and are gonna join in, one response from wingfan40 who thought it seemed all to familiar ;) and this really particular post from a female ducks/wings fan.

---------

Like that idea i think it is extremely intelligent... Watch out though Soon people are gonna take that for their team... I have my own playoff rituals for the Ducks but i think that the bracelets if the media catches on will soon be known NHL Wide----------

How cool would it be, if the media knew about this, and the bracelets caught on to be known NHL wide???

Good idea for the ladies. When I read the title of this post, I was sure it was going somewhere else lol. But this is a much better idea. This way it will be easy to spot female Wings fans around town. You ladies should call into the radio stations and spread the word.

Im going into sports broadcasting once I graduate from high school this year, I job shadowed Katrina Hancock from Local 4. I thought about emailing her after I saw this. I told my parents about it (who clearly do not understand) and they thought it was stupid. Im still thinking about emailing her. I dont know.

We should probably trademark this ASAP. :P

Meijer's is a ****** so of course I couldn't find any embroidery floss there, so I just bought some really thin ribbon. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I've decided it's equally as cute. :)

Ha thats how Walmart was, the always have it except when I want it. So if I could get myself to go to sleep Im going to Michaels or Joanns first thing in the morning.

I like that outlook haha..

All of my kids WILL play hockey. Im 17 and I know I will be a hockey mom. I need to marry a hockey player, I dont know if my life would be normal if I didnt marry someone who at least played hockey. ahaha jk.

Will a scout/fan count? lol.

You would be surprised how little my pickup line "I have Red Wing season tickets" worked.

 WINNER!

YES I FINALLY WON A THREAD!!! :yowza:

Well death is no good. Maybe thats why it never worked it was too shocking.

Believe it or not but I offered to take someone on here to a game once and she outright said no. Names will be witheld to protect the innocent.

On a serrious note, my cousin made bead bracelets back in the day.

I am pretty sure I still have the one she made me. It says Red Wings. Now she lives in the Kings backyard and complains how she never hears a single peep about hockey.

I got mine there for 29 cents...walmart didnt have any (arent they supposed to have everything?)

My floss was a little more - 35 cents each - but I went to Michael's. Of course I spent like $20, because I got a bunch of other stuff, too. It seems I can't walk out of a craft supply store without spending at least $20. LOL

Walmart sucks. I refuse to shop there because of the way they treat their female employees, among other things. But that's a topic for another thread.

Little tip for you ladies: What you really wanna do is get about 500 of these and individually wrap each color around it's own matchbook-looking-thing. Then you purchase this little tackle box thing to put them all in.

Now - and this is the important part - store this box, UNLATCHED, concealed directly atop something that the man of the house would need access to on a weekly basis - and just wait for the cussing to begin!

Good times. Good times.

(Also - of course - never ever actually cross stitch something.)
