Handy-dandy "OMFG PANIC WE LOST A GAME!" Thread

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Fixed :)

Personally, I hope we lose again next game. I've always said I want us to go into the playoffs on a losing streak (remember 02?). Look how well we've done when we coast into the playoffs on a 72 game winning streak.....

A wings losing streak usually means that a long winning streak is round the corner :siren:

and we went down 2-0 against the 8th seeded Canucks. If lids wouldnt have gotten the center ice goal we MAY have never passed the first round. So I don't wanna go in losing...it would be perfect to beat the hawks on sunday and regain that confidence back for the playoffs!

anybody know where the wings will be golfing?

Well seeing as the season ends in the summer all teams will be golfing, even the cup winners!

You think I can get at least half my money back if I sell all my Wing swag on ebay?

Fairweather fan, unless you are joking and I missed you obvious attempt at sarcasm.

Hey if you want to give up on the Wings because they lost a season series or even one game to the Blackhawks be my guest, join the line behind the others that either couldn't deal with Holland not getting "Their Guy" or Babcock playing Player x too much. It is a long line to bail on the Wings, but you know what there is no line back in. That door is locked.

Do you people realize how irrational you sound, do you ever read your own posts, you probably should.

But all I have to say is good, less bandwagon fans, oh wait you can't be a bandwagon fan because the team is still the best team in hockey and if they can get one more point they will sew up the President's trophy. In order to be a bandwagon fan you would root for them when they are winning and trash them when they are losing. Some of you are bailing on them so that IF they lose in the playoffs you can say I told you so, but I mean you have 15-1 odds of being right. Where as those of us who are saying we think they can win have a 15-1 chance of having egg on our face. I would rather eat crow than bail on my team because of something like lines, personnel moves, or who plays the pp point.

You think the Wings aren't good enough to win, fine say that then back it up. You know back up your statement with facts (Fact: 1.Something demonstrated to exist or known to have existed, 2. A real occurrence; an event, 3. A thing that has been done) and then maybe people won't think you are a whiner or a spoiled fan.

I am not saying I am happy they lost last night, I just understand that no team wins the cup every year and no team will go undefeated. Look at the Celtics this year, destroying the west, killing the east, well except Philly and Charlotte, because they struggle against a certain type of team that happens to be in the lower echelon of the league, doesn't mean they are doomed in the post season.

I said it before and I will say it again:

IF the wings win the cup this year it will be almost as satisfying as the 04 Worlds Series, all of you bashers, whiners, complainers, disgruntled fans (not the ones with legit posts and backing their opinion up with facts, I have no problem with that) that are so willing to bail on "Their Team" will be back here saying all a long that you knew they could do it. Until I start combing the board and showing everyone the posts where you gave up on the team.

Complain, fine that is great, you don't like Sammy, fine, you don't like Huds, fine! Just back it up with something concrete, not just:

"Sammy sucks and if you can't see it you are blind watch him play" or

"Huds is a waste, he can't do anything" or

"Holland sucks he didn't get Feds"

Opinion is not a fact!!!! Not my opinion not your opinion, if you want to share your opinion then be prepared for some one to disagree with you. My opinion is that Sammy, Huds, Lilja and others don't suck. I have had many discussions with posters on here that feel the exact opposite as me, those were great discussions. I have also had many flame wars over it, because people can't accept some one having a different opinion than them. It is the old if you don't agree with what the gov't is doing you aren't patriotic or you hate the US argument.

Edit: Messed up my odds!

The Wings are terrible; Chicago is obviously a superior team, we would have no chance against them in the playoffs, and if they get in, we might as well just accept another first round defeat. It doesn't matter anyway, even if we get past the first round, we won't beat the Ducks or the Sharks anyway because we are too soft. And if we somehow do beat one or both of those teams, we would definitely lose in the finals because we would be so beat up from those series (because were are soft, don't forget) that whatever team we played from the East would just walk over us. We would probably get swept. Also, the fact that the team is really old, would definitely mean we couldn't keep up with a younger team from the East. So, why even watch? It's just going to be another disappointment.

Note: This was all sarcasm, in keeping with the spirit of this thread.

I see the wings going against eaither nashville or chichcago and being knocked out in 4 games, and Babcock trading away Datsyuk, Zetterburg, Lindstrom, Rafalski, and all other big hitters, for draft pick

This is sarcasim

HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa

"Why would Chelios, 46, check Kane 7 times on a penalty kill?"

LMAO

I am not going to lie, while it was stupid, I was cracking up as he was doing that. Kane was bitching to the refs and slashing away at Chelios because he was so pissed.

If they really want to give up on Red Wings, I don't think they need any help from you, dont you think?

and yeah i'm gonna be so rational and perfectly logical while watching a sports event. While bitching about other people having different opinions or mocking fellow fans who display displeasure their team getting pawned. Why? cuz I don't like them and I don't want to read them.

Any more thought police wanna chime in on this issue?

Nah, there is no need to panic.

It's good because this will pump the Wings up and send em back flying.

Might be good. Of course I'd hate to see back-to-back losses to Chicago but it wouldn't be a dreadful thing to motivate them for playoffs.

I get tired of the panic posts, but I'm starting to get just as tired of the 'anti panic posts'.

Ditto. I think both extremes are a little absurd. The reality is that there's plenty to discuss heading in as there's plenty of things the team can improve on. They're way too talented to be playing such sloppy hockey lately. Just terrible defensive coverage that there's really no excuse for. There's a big difference between recognizing it and posing it for discussion and panic threads. The way I see it, they've just made it quite clear that we'd be wise to keep an open mind about their chances. They could very well pull it together, but they very well might not either as there are a lot of holes to patch up right now.

Anyone who knows me or see's me as a member around here knows I'm generally not a sarcastic or rude guy, but all I can say is this, you know what is just as anyone as the doomsayers threads that show up after s***ty games, theses retalitions and sarcastic threds in response. I've argued on both sides of teh fence. I love this team, yes, sometimes they need to be kicked in the ass. But these threads are every bit as silly as the other ones.

BTW I just wanna say I respect everyone in this forum and have been enjoy reading most of the posts in this thread.

It's just that I felt someone went over their line a bit to tell other board memeber what to do and I wanted to share my opinion on that matter.

My last banter should not be viewed as any personal attack against any memeber of this forum but rather an objection against the idea.

I agree, and I think there's too many self-righteous posters here, who believe that their overconfidence in their team is somehow a sign of them being right and everyone else being wrong. If anyone disagrees with them, that person gets labeled as a Ducks supporter. It's just like the Red Scare in America's history. Idiotic, irrational, and started by a few self-righteous buffoons.

It's exactly like the Red Scare after that war.

No wait.....nevermind. Joe McCarthy ruined peoples' lives.

This is a website.

Why don't you and Pronger get a room? (<-----see? that's a joke.)

I don't know, I thought the thread was just a chance to joke around a little bit and have some fun. That is why I posted in it. Like others have said, there are extremes at both ends, with the people who panic after one loss, and those that think the team is invincible. I didn't take this thread to be for those that think the team can do no wrong, I just thought it was a chance to poke a little fun at all of the dooms day predictions. I apologize if anyone was offended, and I am not being sarcastic in this post.
