VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 I'm tired of everyone trying to label a hockey player as "The Next (Insert Name Here)". I just had a thought, though. Obviously it's a long-distance prediction, but I'm betting Toews will play for Detroit at some point in his career.

Uncle Danny 155 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 (edited) Gah, NBC announcers need to STFU about Toews and Kane and CALL THE FLIPPING GAME. Less color, more pbp! Edit: Typo Edited April 6, 2008 by Uncle Danny
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 Milbury just tried to call McGuire on being wrong. McGuire wouldn't own up to it.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 (edited) Wow, I hate McGuire. He just keeps getting worse. Milbury: "Detroit just won the President's Trophy, they have Norris winner Nick Lidstrom...and you're saying that Nashville is going to steamroll them?" McGuire: "Well...no...I didn't say that exactly...I think Nashville has a fighting chance, though!" Edited April 6, 2008 by edicius
Lidstromrules16 7 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 Pierre McGuire is funny! hahahahaha good thing Mike Milbury is there to talk sense into him.
marcaractac 3,963 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 McGuire seems to have a major hard on for the Preds. Can't wait till we proove him wrong!!
Bluedevils_13 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 Milbury traded away Chara and Luongo for nothing...he can never be right about anything ever.
Mors 201 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 McGuire just can't accept any possibility of the Wings' being a solid team...he's still stuck on that "old and unproven" line from a couple years ago

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 McGuire seems to have a major hard on for the Preds. Can't wait till we proove him wrong!! I loved Milbury kind of ripping into Pierre for being a homer for any team that plays against the Wings. And earlier, how Pierre is using glowing adjectives like "energetic youthfulness" for Chicago's young players and "some younger guys" for Detroit in describing how they have something to prove. Milbury: "Detroit just won the President's Trophy, they have Norris winner Nick Lidstrom...and you're saying that Nashville is going to steamroll them?" McGuire: "Well...no...I didn't say that exactly...I think Nashville has a fighting chance, though!" Milbury is my hero. He constantly puts mcguire down for being a jack ass...as seen in my sig and this quote above me. Mcguire just roots against the wings...and milbury clearly dislikes the guy. McGuire: We are both batting .500 Mike Mibury: We expect you to be wrong but im upset with my average...
Bluedevils_13 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 Ya Mcguire was trying to call Milbury on, Milbury saying Hasek was going of struggle but Milbury was having none of it.

Mcguire just roots against the wings...and milbury clearly dislikes the guy. McGuire: We are both batting .500 Mike Mibury: We expect you to be wrong but im upset with my average... I have a good feeling about Hasek this year, guys. We've seen this story before (questionable season performance, amazing playoffs). Hasek was born for the playoffs and I think he's going to turn it on like he has in the past. But I'm sure, just by the law of probability, he will have a bad game and Ozzie will come in. I'm torn. I would love to see Osgood play, I wish Babcock would alternate. What would keep opponents confused and on their toes more than a constant changing opposing goaltender? It'd be so hard for them to get into a groove against a particular goalie.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 Fixed. Yep, you've got that right. McGuire can't even give a single bit of credit to the Wings for ANYTHING. Milbury, while still an idiot on many levels, can at least give credit where it's due.
