Lidstrom Bashing

I was browsing through the Dallas Stars forums to see their reaction on last night's game against the Ducks, and I came across a thread where there was some Lidstrom bashing going on.

Just thought I'd throw this out there for those people who like to browse around other forums.

Collectively they seem like a good group of people. Only one person was Lidstrom bashing, and others were defending Lids as one of the greats. They kinda reminded me of a Dallas version of LGW, actually.

I don't know any Dallas fans who would ever disparage Nick. They know he's amazing. I love Zubov, too, and think he doesn't get the attention he deserves. But he's no Nick Lidstrom.

I wouldn't lump Stars fans in with the poster in that thread on the Dallas boards.

wow, that was.... wow.... some people are such homers and grit-nazi's that they are basically blind to appreciating anything they don't understand. I love his argument that Lidstrom is a ***** and it took one hit to put him out and that Zubov is head and shoulders better. Its hilarious. And its just the one guy who keeps posting over and over. Guy needs a hobby, maybe he can start actually watching hockey.

I do think most Stars fans are smarter and the majority are defending Nick, so thats good. Oh well, they can't all be smart, otherwise we wouldn't have Gary Bettman.

PS- Their board doesn't read nearly as well as this one.

This isn't an isolated incident...there have been quite a few threads like this on that website over the years...there were a bunch early in the year when Zubov was playing out of his mind and they thought he would win the Norris "like he should have every year for the past ....." I've felt tempted to register and respond, but its not worth it trying to explain to them..

Quite a few say he is "only an offensive defenseman who is shielded by all of the other great players on his team" and that Zubov is "miles better with the puck and in his own zone".

There are alot of good Stars fans, but there are also some on that site that are deluded and full of Red envy....

envy=really really dumb statements

still...it really is just that one guy and (a couple of others)

I almost want to register there to tell this guy what perseverance means;

Myself I've nothing but respect for Dallas (and especially Turco, Modano and Morrow).

Zubov is also a top 5 defenceman, who unfortunately has to play in a time with Lidstrom. He's their Nik and he's a hell of a D-man.

Zubov and Markov from Montreal don't get their due. Instead all the time about Pronger and Niedermayer.
