Well at first they had the states pictured... in the colors... but i just snapped the final contrast so you knew. Why Detroit was BLUE idk
That was clear from your post. I'm just being nit-picky of the scoreboard operators b/c the pictures that were supposed to be for Detroit were on the same side as the Predators' score. But thanks for posting them, and hope you had fun at the game!

Yes, just got back, this was my first playoff game that i went to and the atmosphere was crazy, i came in 10 minutes to gametime in a drunken daze, the chants were going good, people were cheering on everything the wings did, those 2 goals by shantyville were of the garbage variety and if that first fluke of a goal didnt bounce as it did the 2nd goal would have been non-existent. We were getting quality chances all game it could have ended 6-2 if not more. Man my nerves were at a high in the 3rd when we just had the 1goal lead but the insurance marker put me at ease. Babcock took a timeout at the perfect time and the Wings came back hard and ended with a well deserved win.

GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was my first playoff game too. It was AWESOME! I tried getting a closeup picture of Pierre interviewing Draper in the beginning to do some MS paint modifying to Pierre but it didn't work. <_<

The NHL.com article says they got breaks but the Wings really dominated this game. Hasek looked great except for that second goal. Kid Rock was there! Predators don't stand a chance. The 'Ellis' chants were awesome! I think I saw Pierre giving Nashville pointers in the second!

Before game started we chilled behind the Wings bench. from when doors opened until the game started.. then we headed to our seats.. It was fun. Downey came out and skated by himself.. Then Peeair decided to come and talk to him, so i yelled "Aaron, Tell Peeair he;s a ***." Obviously he didnt but it made me feel good incide.

My analysis of the game from section 116 row 16 seat 9.

- Homer was an absolute terror on the ice. Glad he was rewarded with a goal in the game.

- Hudler and Hartigan, Should not be wearing the Wings uniform Both are worthless. How hudler has managed 2 points is beyond me.

- Krons and Stewie wernt on the top of there game, but they held there own.

- Those goals were cheap that Dom let in, But thats what you get with dom.. Will let the occasional weak goal in, But when he needs to step it up. He gets the job done.

- Sammy on the PP made me gag. On tv he doesnt look THAT bad, but oh my god.. Kill me now.

- Crowd was intesne, Only downside was the blooming idiots behind be who would cuss after every word he said, Was sickening. But i admit i giggled when he tried to start a "Hudler Sucks Dick" chant.

- We played a good game and i have no complaints..

what a game today.

great Wings victory.

my biggest thing i noticed, to my joy, was that in two games thus far, Hasek has only really allowed two goals (that puck bouncing off the glass and pretty much right in front of the net does not count to me when referring a goal against Dom) is Tootoo of all people.

thats amazing, and a great sign. if nashville doesn't drastically play different at home, they're in real trouble.

that mccarty goal made me feel excited for the Wings in ways i havent in a very long time, i couldnt hold in yelling and jumping from seeing him net one.

also i have to make this known, the two crowds for these games were nuts. extremely reactive and very into the games. so so so so happy to see that!

lastly, i dunno how much of Pierre Mcguire i can take this playoff run. he's a tool who seems to always pick against the Red Wings and even during one of the intermission reports he stated how he's still concerned about the Red Wings in the playoffs ... as we go onto a 2-0 lead in our series and heavily outplaying the Preds.

either way, we got it done, now lets put a serious choke hold on the Preds on monday.

Agreed on all, Kylee. And I think Nashville was playing the best they know how.

It will be up to the Red Wings to keep their foot on the Preds' neck (rhymes with red neck?) and not let them get into any game. So far, so good. Just do exactly the same things they've done in game 1 and 2, twice more!

-Flip needs something to give him some confidence. Dats (?) set him up with a gapingly wide open net and he missed. He really needs something to get him going.

Correction: He missed TWO wide-open nets this afternoon. I said it after Game 1: He's really fighting the puck. He was better with it today than he was Thursday, but he definitely needs to finish these chances.

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but let me just say something.

I think that comparison between Detroit and Nashville is a bit out of line. I know it's all in good fun and stuff, but I really find it almost classless, and I'm a bit embarrassed that we stooped to that level.

Two seasons ago, I think it was, the Detroit Pistons were playing the Sacramento Kings in Sacramento. As the Pistons were being introduced, pictures of run-down buildings in Downtown Detroit were shown on the Jumbotron, and I was appalled. I thought it was the most classless thing that one could do. So to see that the Wings did basically the same thing doesn't sit to well with me.

Again, just my $0.02. I know it was in fun, but I don't like it too much.

Dumb actions? The first because he left the net to stop the dump-in? If that happens 100 more times, Dom (and virtually any other goaltender) will go behind the net to help out his defense 100 times. Was it a "bad" goal? Sure -- but it was a freak thing. I don't specifically pin that on Hasek because he's going back to help. s*** happens.

As for the 2nd goal -- that was a complete brainfart by Lilja playing a bouncing puck (glove? hello!). Hasek, however SHOULD have stopped it -- it wasn't an impressive shot by Tootoo.

That said -- Hasek was still incredible today, IMO. Some of the stops he made -- especially in the first period -- are the reason the Red Wings are up 2-0 in this series.

I agree.

Loved it when Wings scored right after Nash tied it...I'm all for competition but Zanon's taunting postgoal was pretty annoying and classless, you wouldn't see Lidstrom doing that.

I agree.

I love the way Hasek and the rest of the team settled down after the 2 quick goals. Good call by Babcock. He must have heard me yelling at my tv to call a timeout. :P

You know, I get sick of all the age comments and wisecracks about some of the Wings' players, but it's that experience that allows them to stay cool when the other team scores 2 quick goals and appears to have all the momentum.

Totally agree, Austin. I remember that incident with the Pistons. The Kings were doing that with all visiting teams but the Maloofs (owners of the Kings) weren't behind it and thought it was tasteless, so they had it removed and disciplined the guy running the jumbotron for it. The Maloofs apologized for it, too.

I think that the big difference between the two is that what was done at the Joe tonite was based solely on rather unsubstantial stereotypes usually used to garner a few easy laughs. Meanwhile, what was shown in Sacramento was a depiction of the grim reality that faces Detroit today.

I am well aware that most people from Tenn don't play the banjo, piss in outhouses, live in shacks, and have only half their teethe. It's a lot like the stereotypes of Canada involving igloos, dogsleds, toques, etc. No one in Canada gets offended, because, for the most partthey are unsubstantiated.

On the other hand, to make fun at the expense of MoTown's economic crisis that has had devastating effects on many lives is definitely below the belt.

I think that there is a big difference.

I read through most of the GDT and didn't come across anything. Anyone care to explain the content of the jumbotron discussion?

* Found the pictures and I don't see any problem with it. Just some harmless shots at Nashville, no big deal.

Go back a few pages.

I agree that the Jumbotron stuff was completely classless. I pride myself on being a Red Wings fan because we typically stay away from this s***. It's too bad that, on a pretty great day for our team, I feel the need to comment on something like this, but I just thought I'd add my voice to the crowd that didn't enjoy it. Stereotypes and judgments like that, however tongue-in-cheek, just aren't good news.

From what i remember they were using actual footage of detroit.

I really hope that they weren't showing actual footage of a real bathroom in nashville... i would never go there if that was the case!

Apart from my house being used as the DETROIT house (which i find funny cause find THAT house in DETROIT) everything else seemed a bit made up.

But the Deliverance music for the MUSIC section... priceless... Detroit is Rock, Nash is well country/banjo s***
