puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 Sounds a bit petty and small minded when reading it from someone else, doesn't it? Now you've just a LITTLE taste of what everyone here reads with nearly every one of your "nail him to the cross, he has given everything for you, and yet you crucify him" posts about Dom. Annoying, isn't it? it might be if I knew what you were talking about.
umredwing11 2 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 I was at my friend's party, when the worst happened: we ran out of booze. So I got the the short stick and ha to walk to the liquor store and get more...the bad news is that I wasn't there to see the OT goal, but the good news is that they were playing it at the store, and the place went nuts when Franzen scored. A lets go red wings chant broke out and everything. It was amazing--it was so awesome to see how excited everybody got, including myself!

The Noodle 39 14 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 Glad we won and Franzen's goal was awesome but.. this Nashville team was without it's two best players and we won 2-1 in overtime. Nashville really stuck around and would not go away even if they were missing arnott and Legwand. This scares me and has me worried about our future playoff matchups. But... I'm just gonna focus on the NOW part of the playoffs and be happy! Yay! Go Wings! Score some more goals though!!! lol

Be happy instead of acting like an jerk, hey? I am happy. Oz wasn't spectacular tonight. He didn't need to be. He got the job done, though, didn't he? Ozzie IS the man. "Da man in da net." Now where have I heard that before....???
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 I am happy. Oz wasn't spectacular tonight. He didn't need to be. He got the job done, though, didn't he? He was great, got second star (Mule was first, Dan Ellis, third). Clearly, Babcock made the right decision.

Must Kill 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 had to watch the game very late tonight ended up working a double and dodged any form of news to hear any scores of any matter. Watched the game and my damn heart dropped when nashville scored the tieing goal. I was actually more worried that the dvr wouldnt of got the game winner reccored in OT, and what do you know the game ends on a very high note, and that little thing they call what is it ahh yes momentium is on our side. Ozzie played a great game, and heres to hoping he gets the net on sunday too.

Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 Ha! I'm not gonna single anyone out. But to all of you who have trashed the Wings the past two games, who have made us endure your excessively and incessantly negative posts, who have said the team 'showed you' something that suggests their imminent failure, who have written the team off: what do you think now? (Especially now that many of you are back on the bandwagon.) This series is not over. There are things the Wings can still improve upon (especially finishing on their chances). And they have a formidable challenge to close out Nashville on their home ice. But the Wings played an outstanding game. They controlled the puck the entire game. Their defensive zone coverage was outstanding. Most of the game looked like a power play. They were the team many of us (or at least some of us) thought they would be. And despite their effort, Ellis stood on his head and Nashville was managed to score a goal and send the game to overtime. I admit I too had flashbacks to game 5 against Anaheim (which I was at). But this team proved itself by regrouping and scoring the OT winner. If you call yourselves Red Wings fans, win or lose, don't doubt this team again. P.S. - Boo-yah! wingsgirl001 983 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 If I am not mistaken, I believe he said earlier today that he was going to be at the game tonight. AWESOME for him! Oh cool, I didn't know he went to the game, awesome! OZZIE!!!!!! That wins <
Nero 20 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 What I enjoy is knowing that Nashville doesn't know Osgood like they know Hasek. They had two games, and they found his weakness. Now they've got to find it tomorrow or they are eliminated. Here's to hoping Osgood doesn't have a weakness! Let's go Red Wings!

I just went over to ESPN and watched Melrose "the tool" analysis and he said that Nashville played a great game. WTF! The Preds got their asses handed to them on a plate. Ellis played a great game. Period. How can these idiots be so anti-Wings that they can come up with this crap? WOW. Just WOW!

I don't even listen to what these so-called analysts have to say..it goes in one ear and out the other... they won't jump on the wagon until the last few seconds of the deciding game when we will win it all...it will end shortly after the airing of the game.... remember this, the one who makes you angry, has control over you....... VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 I don't understand why people say always dismiss Osgood's performances beacuse he doesn't face a lot of shots. Last I heard having a great defense doesn't make you a less than spectacular goalie. I mean, shot amount or no, he was pitching a shutout until a ridiculously difficult shot came at him with 6 men on the ice and a whole lot of clutter. There's no such thing as an "easy" shut out in the NHL. I've heard this rationale many times, so it's not aimed at Ozzie alone.
gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 I've just gotta say, taking nothing away from Osgood or Franzen, but how do you give anyone but Ellis the first star? He's the only reason that game wasn't a 6-0 romp.
Nero 20 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 (edited) I've just gotta say, taking nothing away from Osgood or Franzen, but how do you give anyone but Ellis the first star? He's the only reason that game wasn't a 6-0 romp. Franzen won the game. Osgood nearly got a shutout. Ellis lost the game but not by a wide margin. Not to take away from Ellis.. but he was the same player he was the last 4 games. He gave up juicy rebounds. Red Wings just failed to click. Don't get me wrong, he was still really good. Props to him for keeping Nashville in it so long and giving them a chance to go home with a different record. Edited April 19, 2008 by Nero
gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 Biggest thing I took from this is that we faced adversity and a hot goalie and we found a way to stay in a low scoring game and win. That's why this is a different team than those years we went out early.
