What's the deal with Zetterberg? He seems to have little confidence in his shot, and is constantly passing up shots just to go to the backhand and drive the net. He's starting to look like Sammy out there offensively with that backhanded move. He needs to shoot more, and think less.

I know I'm kicking a team while they're down, but when you get outshot something like 95-35 in Game 5 and 6, you don't deserve to be in the playoffs. I don't care if Arnott was injuried, Nashville hung their goalie out to dry. I hate those teams that play rope a dope and try and ride their goalie. If a team is sucessful, other teams try it and it ruins the game, so :thumbup: to the Wings for sending them home.

Ok I've had my say.....

Anyway, I'm planning on going to a game in the 2nd round. $70 for the Upper Bowl, I think, is decent.

consider the source, hon. It's the Nashville media who did the picking. And I don't mean a banjo. So there you have it. Normal people know better.

O yes i forgot there Hillbilly's down there <_<

Indeed, he has! Way to go Hootie! :)

Its CHEEKS not HOOTIE :P :P :P

Great last 30 mins by the Wings. NSH got virtually nothing in our zone till the last 5 mins, and even then they didn't create a great deal.

Ozzie - totally in control and cool, we never looked in danger with him there. If that was Dom in net, he would've got bored with the lack of action and tried stickhandling the puck to the blue-line or something equally dumb.

In fact, if it wasn't for Dom, this could and should have been over in 4. Game effort by the Preds, but the better, nay dominant, team won :)

Now I'm off to bed - I gotta be up in 6 hours!

Yeah, because Dom lost those 2 games all by himself.

He said "I wasn't trying to be a dick to them...." (regarding a comment he made about Nashville fans being hillbillies). I love it.

Please tell me there is a link to this interview online! I got the Ozzie and Lids interviews here!

How about those Red Wings, eh? :D

Credit must be given to this team for battling back from the disaster that was Games 3 and 4. They fought through the adversity that was thrown at them, and this expierence should hopefully help them in the upcoming series. Nashville was certainly tough to get past, but the Wings proved themselves as the better team in the end. Way to go guys!

Osgood has proven himself as a turning point in this series. Although he hasn't faced that many shots (Ellis sees more in half a game than Osgood does in two full games), he stopped the ones he needed to, and I think only 1 goal against in that time speaks for itself. Goaltending is so important, so no matter who is in net, we need them to play well (and start supporting our goaltenders for once, instead of finding faults in everything they do). He really came to play, and it's great to see him doing well.

Hudler is another guy that has really come to play. It's about time he stepped it up, because he's been in this organization for a while, and a lot has been expected of him. I didn't know if he was capable, but he's really showing he is. Great to see that we can get scoring from other sources, which was one of the concerns I had going into the playoffs. Secondary scoring is so important this time of year, especially when guys like Datsyuk and Zetterberg will have the vultures known as the other teams top defenseman watching them all game, so you need scoring from other sources if those guys are being shut down. Hopefully Hudler keeps it going.

All in all, I'm really proud of the Wings for coming through in the end, especially after the horrible collapse they had mid-series. For the first time, in a long time, I think this team has a real legitimate shot at the Cup. If they play the way we know they can play, and all the guys on the team get going, they can beat anyone.

Let's Go Red Wings!!!!!!!!!!

I think over the last 2 games, the wings looked absolutley solid defensively. If they continue to play the games that way, they aren't going to lose too much the rest of the way.

I want to say one thing about the predator fans today at the rink there. I certainly respect the fact that they are behind their team. I guess what I want to ask is (and this is not a flame), at what point do you predator fans start expecting more from your team? I mean, this is how many early exits in the playoffs now, and you still gave the team a standing ovation? Yes you were up against the number 1 team, yes you were banged up doing it, yes you drew the series out longer than it probably should have gone, but at what point do you start expecting your team to get beyond round 1? It is an honest question and I'd like to hear thoughts on it. Again, this is not a knock on the fans or the predator team. I give them props. I think their heart is the only thing that got them to 6 games. They were hanging around with heart alone, and unfortunately didn't have the talent.

:dntknw: I feel the redwings need to play more with a bit more agression. They had good checks and followed through with them. but....... I feel the team is lax when shooting the puck. always looking for the "perfect set up" Pepper the goaltender with shots I say.

12 more to go!!! LETS GO WINGS!!!

no complaints, bad plays happen its part of hockey lets just enjoy the series win

Icouldnt watch the game but i listened on the radio at work and caught pretty much the whole game, i heard Helm's name alot he sounded beast out there good stuff. When Lidstrom scored that goal all i was thinking was the series vs. Vancouver, and a goal like that swings things and it definitely got to the Preds tonight. Good to see Huds pot one. Going into the 3rd i felt confident it was different then last game because of the goal we scored i just felt like the win was coming our way. This time we shut down the preds in the 3rd and played Detroit-D, Osgood what more can i say just OSGOOD. Preds gave it a good go and they got on my nerves all series which is why i respect the fight they put up. Legwand played hurt and out of the nashville lineup i think he gets the most respect from me in this one. Radulov and Arnott, spazzies jumping up and down on each other on a go ahead goal, way to be idiots, lol, thats what happens im sorry had to say it.

btw does anyone have video footage of the end of the game and hand shakes?

GOOD JOB BOYS

GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought the Wings played an absolutely perfect road playoff game today. It was beautiful. I don't have enough time to post detailed thoughts, but here's this: Darren Helm was sensational. I mean, my goodness. What a treat. The entire fourth line was outstanding, and they should stick together for as long as possible. Maltby comes back? Take out Samuelsson. Helm/McCarty/Hudler was great.

Osgood, it goes without saying. But I'll still say it anyway. He was superb. I just feel so much more confident with him in net.

Now that it's over, this is exactly how I thought the series would play out. It certainly wasn't easy, but I think it's exactly what the Wings needed. It was tough, it was physical, it was tight. Bring on either Colorado or Calgary.

I enjoyed watching the handshakes. I love seeing teams shake hands who never do shake hands during any other time in the series.

On that note, the Pistons just lost a home game in the first round? LOL wtf is that? Talk about looking down at your opponents...my God.

I wonder if it's bad luck for Nashville in having the logo being an extinct animal. 4 out 4 first round loses and never won a road game out of it.

I also want to give props to Nashville. You guys take a lot of ribbing from us but (most of) it is in good sportsmanlike fun. It was a hard fought series and I'm surprised at how civil it remained despite the high level of physical play.

Hell, even Tootoo didn't do too many things to get bent out of shape over.

Anyways, Nashville did you guys proud.

did anyone notice how stu was shaking hands at the end of the game? i guess his hand is still hurting. he was reaching over with his other hand to shake. maybe someone can show the video.

i noticed that and knew immediately of course it had something to do with his hand, but hats off to him for playing through that much pain, and hats off to the Wings for finishing off the Preds and moving on. very pleased and impressed with how they played the last two games.

Yeah, thanks. Seems like it was all kept at a little higher level than in the past. For me, it's about good hockey. At the end of the day, regardless of the opponent, hockey fans gotta stick together and stick up for their sport....especially if you're in a so-called "non-traditional market."

As far as Tootoo is concerned (this might be disputed by some), I think he is really trying to become a more well-rounded hockey player. Tough to live down a reputation. Time will tell if he can do it.

Great series, particularly the way you guys played at home. Ellis really stood on his head for you. That is great for me to see after watching him for two years with our local Iowa Stars AHL team. He deserves all the praise he has received, nice kid. I look forward to battles in the future. Peace!
