MVP of the Series

Pavel was a force, for sure. Just plain fantastic.

Drake showed his value as an antagonizer (in Maltby's absence, especially) and really led by example with his hitting, I think.

Lidstrom made some subtly goal-saving plays, especially today.

1) Datsyuk - a beast in both ends of the rink.

2) Kronwall - healthy, and showing the talent we know he has

3) Osgood - 1 goal conceded in 2.5 games? Not just that, we haven't *looked* like conceding.

As we all predicted, the point leaders right now are Dats, Hootie and Kronner (5 each).

I give Dats the edge as MVP, with the other 2 as seconds, along with Lids, who is, as usual, perfect.

Kudos also to Johan & Drake.

Hats off as well to Ellis. He did well.

id say the defense. they definitely kept us alive.

kronwall was a beast, and anyone who says he didnt perform is retarded. he may have not put up points, but he consistently smashed the opponent every chance he got. hell even dats layed out a few hits. im gonna have to say franzen though, his work ethic and attitude are clutch. see his face after he scored the breakaway?? he looked like a freakin lion

Lidstrom, being his typical self, breaking up plays and putting up the numbers. Pavel was great too. Helm, Huds, and Filppula made themselves known on the ice on numerous occasions too, Zetterberg seem to make some uncharacteristic decisions in game 6, two come to mind, the two on one with Draper to his right, and he pushed the puck right into the d-mans skates, and the one-timer feed that he got from datsyuk that instead of shooting he took to the backhand and just pushed it into Ellis' leg pad. There were a few instances where hank should have shot and could have scored, but elected to make a strange play instead. Regardless, we won, bring on Colorado or Calgary.

DuckSoup!

Lids

Kronwall

Dats played unreal from the first drop of the puck, he made his presence known all over the ice, he was a backchecking/ forechecking/hitting machine.

Lids was well, Lids.

Kronwall was 3x's the player I expected him to be, those open ice hits are great!!

I gotta go with Ellis too. Dude came out of nowhere and played some absolutely awesome hockey. HM to Datsyuk, and the hard-work award goes to Draper - he's playing like I haven't seen in a long time.

Kronwall was great offensively and with those hits (though a couple were illegal :P ) but man, he was atrocious on the giveaways so I can't say he's the MVP.

Top 3

1. Osgood (1 goal in ~150 minutes?)

2. Datsyuk

3. Lidstrom

hon. mentions: Hudler, Kronwall, Franzen

Bottom 3

1. Lebda/Lilja

2. Stuart

3. Cleary :(

dishon. mentions: Hasek, Filppula, Zetterberg :(

Pasha has been our best forward in the playoffs since he signed that big contract last year. That contract looks pretty sweet now, doesn't it? I even like how he was throwing the body around on people. I just love the thought of an opposing defenseman seeing this little Russian coming at him and thinking, "Crap!"

But, as always, the MVP is you, the fan :)

I can't see how the series MVP can be anyone other than Ozzie. Osgood comes in, the Predators stop scoring. Period. One goal in 150 minutes of hockey. (And that on a 6-on-5.) Slam the door, put up the fence, lock the safe. Datsyuk had a GREAT series. The two knocks on him were that he couldn't produce in the playoffs and wasn't physical, and he took care of those. But Ozzie's play was more important.

Atilla,

I am not so sure they say here comes that little Russian in Nashville anymore, I think they now say look out here comes a Russian. Either Dats or Kronwall was hitting a Predator every shift, Kronwall was lighting people up and Dats was finishing his checks.

I love the type of Hockey the wings are playing right now, it has a physical edge to it that we as wings fans haven't seen in a while, yet they are playing with their typical you can't touch the puck for 2 shifts unless we say so possession style. And then if the other team does get the puck some one is going to either steal it very quickly or, they are going to get hit by some one!!

BTW:

I know he wasn't MVP caliber, and he didn't hit the score sheet, BUT Sir Dallas Drake deserves some Kudos for the way he has played.

Instead of watching or paying attention to what they are supposed to be doing, the Preds players were yelling out heads up to each other when Dallas is honing in on his prey!!!

He is going to earn his league minimum check in the post season alone!!

I also think the face shield is hindering Cleary, you can not forget that as he looks down for the puck he now has that hunk of plastic in his field of vision, it will take some getting used to! Think about a guy like Rip Hamiliton, it took him a lot to get used to the shield for his nose, and now he can't shoot for crap without it, how long ago did he break that thing, 5-6 years ago.

Atilla,

That isn't the words that comes to mind for me. It's more like they see him coming and say, "Oh, s***."
