Peter Forsberg

All i've been hearing the last 2 games is "if Peter Forsberg was playing the avs would....". F@#$ing enough already. Since game one all i've heard is the announcers kissing Forsbergs a$$. He is not that great, the only thing he's got going for him is his past achievments. I just hate the big name band wagon, same as salanne and niedermyer, they didn't do $hit this post season... Sorry, just had to vent...

yes he is still very good and makes a big difference

even if he's not making great plays he sure draws alot of attention and makes space to other players.

imo if avs is going to turn this series around forsberg must show up. otherwise its a sweep. gg no re

No, Peter Forsberg is definitely still great. I think he has more points than games played for this year, and his team is something like 12-2-2 with him, and 5-8-2 without him (not actual numbers, but something along those lines).

I am tired of hearing about how the Wings would've been taken down easily had Forsberg played. Unfortunately with signing him and all his offensive prowess, you're also inheriting his bad injury history, and thats part of the game.

i hope kronner open ice hammers him.....good, clean, cant stand up on my own

"HAMMERED"

i want forskin to have pure"cold sweats" fear looking over his shoulder for a center ice pass.

that would top this years great moment so far of the ducks getting eliminated!

my 2 fuc&ing cents!

yea, i guess he still draws allot of attention, but to call him a difference maker in a game is a joke. knowing his injury history, and the fact that he didn't play much during the regular season, a difference maker is just over the top. the wings won't sweep this round but they will come on top as long as they play full 60 mins. i've noticed that after a decent lead they hold back and play around too much.

i can't believe you say that forsberg isn't a difference maker. especially in this situation when they are down 0-2 without him in the lineup.

Just give some credit to our motown mafia. They took Legwand and Arnott out for most of the series and apparently they slam a sledgehammer in Forsberg's groin every nite when he is asleep to prevent him from playing us. :P

C'mon those guys need to sell the game and they can't just say, 'hey don't even bother watching the game because Avs shouldn't even be in the same league as Detroit Red Red Wings'

the avs aren't what they used to be, even with with "Divesberg". NBC and VS are trying to hype up the matchup by bringing up the past. The avs suck, with or without Forskin , its time to trim the mullet and move into the 21st century hockey.

The announcers are correct I'm afraid. It would make a big difference for the Avs if forsberg was in the lineup. he'd create plays, and draw defenders. But unfortunately for them he's not in the lineup, and they have to play without him. They've shown so far that they're not so good at doing so.

well, let forsberg come back, even though i think he's done, let the wings beat them since we're are so over rated according to every hockey analyst. i rather be the underdog in the playoffs, come in under the radar....

If 1 guy makes the difference between winning and taking an pounding like what happened in game 2, the Avs have no chance. Take away our best forward - pick one, Hank? Pavel? Franzen?

Guess what, minus that 1 guy and we still don't get blown out.

The Avs are just not that good despite all those big names that the press loves - Sakic, Foote. What happened to them?

Sakic, Smyth, Foote, Theodore. They are all still playing right? The talking heads all said that they were great. What happened? Lose 1 guy and the team goes from better than the Wings to getting blown out.

Must be that they really weren't that good and/or they have zero depth.

Forsberg is about as reliable as having a hooker for a girlfriend. Why are they surprised that he's not there for them when they need him to be? That idiot is always injured.

They have no chance of winning a game against us. Floppa isn't going to play defense and he isn't a goalie either. Our system is just way better than their system, and their defense can't handle us. Also, Theodore is overrated and can only look impressive when he's playing the Wild. Forsberg can't help any of those things. He's just another skilled forward, of which they have plenty of.

People hate the WIngs, so they're going to make excuses for the other team, and Floppa is the easiest excuse for them to make, even though he wasn't even a member of the team until March. Next week at this time we'll be getting ready for another series, so I can't wait till all this Forsberg talk stops.

No. He's still good but certainly not great. Ovechkin is great, Dats is great, Iginla is great. Peter is good.

Exacly. Where's the great Joe Sakic at?

The only time his name has been mentioned the first 2 games was when Hank made him look silly out there on the 5th goal today.

good point. i hadn't thought of that. it's all about marketing.

btw, i have no respect for a guy who gets sand in his putty and sits out a whole year, then decides to jump in the league with a playoff contender just before the playoffs... TWICE!

As an avs fan I have to agree, and I was wondering the same thing to myself today. Sure, it would be nice to have him but it's not that big of an advantage to have one extra star. We have other skilled players on this team and shouldn't rely on one person to carry the weight of the entire team and expect him to guide us to victory.

I'm not blaming our losses on Forsberg being out, I can however blame our loss on the sloppy penatlies for one (amongst other things).... :(

Yeah, and Pierre made a big deal out of Sakic not covering Franzen. Which made no sense, the second Av had the responsibility of taking out Franzen. Sakic got fried by Zetterberg just like any other mortal. I was glad the color guy corrected him.

Divesberg, LOL :siren:

yeah, the "rivalry" is like 8 years old and non-existent but oh well,

Forskin's biggest impact is in the showers after his teammates 'blow' a big game.

I think being 0-2, the Avs are in a worse spot than the Preds were when the series shifted 2 games in Nashville. Sure Forsberg is a great player, and even if he played his best, that wouldnt be enough to win a game.

Right now nothing is working for them. They need to patch up their goalie situation, their defense, and offense. Basically they need to solve everything. Right now the Wings have momentum, they smell the blood in the water, and they want the kill. This series could be over in 4 if they dont come up with something by Tuesday. Once you go down 0-3 in a series, you are there for a reason, and are basically done.

Everyone has been saying Detroit hasnt been playing good and doesnt look like a Cup contender. What they have shown in these two game is just the exact opposite.
