Opie 308 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 I wonder if Huet will go back to Was. If he doesn't what other option is out there for them? I ask in all seriousness, whom do you think they go after? I highly doubt they use Johnson, and I think there will be quite a few teams interested in Huet.

I highly doubt they use Johnson, and I think there will be quite a few teams interested in Huet. They have Semen Varlamov, their 1st round pick a couple of years ago, I believe he plays in russia but might come here. I think he is too young to be their starter, but will see. He's already been quoted saying he wouldn't mind staying in Washington, but I think he's going to test Free Agency a little as well.

M0DAN01999 6 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 I hope Huet stays with them they seemed to work out well. I also hope Federov stays also.
marcaractac 3,963 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 I say Huet will stay where he is to. Washington wll push hard to keep him. And who wouldn't want to play for an upcomign team like that? I think they are gonna be dangerous next year now with good coaching from the get go and with the experienced they've gained in the playoffs.
shoe 165 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 No real surprise, the question is where do they go from here? Well if they cant get their hands on Huet there options could be: Emery from Ottawa Manny Fernadez from Boston seeing as Tim Thomas seems to be their guy now. Raycroft from the leafs Belfour is over in europe. They have a kid who they think is ready as well I cant rememeber his name but i heard Mike Mcphee during an interview and he was excited about him. interminded 1 Report post Posted May 10, 2008 Huet wants to stay in Washington and it's likely the Caps want him to stay too. So don't expect Huet to go anywhere else. As for Kolzig... hard to say. His play has somewhat declined steadily since the lockout. I think he could be a great mentor / backup for a younger goalie (Atlanta for example). Starter ? " I don't think so, Tim ..
