I have watched probably close to 95% of the Wings regular and post season games over the past 5 years (been watching them religiously for the past 13 years), and I have NEVER seen the Wings or any other team for that matter play a complete shutdown defense the way the Wings played in the 3rd period of this game. Completely amazing :thumbup: :thumbup: And yeah in that VS post game, they were all just basically just shaking there heads and speechless. Gonna relish this game for a while. GO WINGS!!!!!!! That 1st period was a nail biter, but after we got the 1st one and Datsuk got a quick 2nd, I knew we were going to win!!!!!! GO WINGS!!!!!!! that was priceless!! they did not even ask the generic stupid question "so, how can dallas get back into this series?". that was probably the best hockey those hosers have seen since the Russian 5. adtthosa 5 Report post Posted May 13, 2008 Had to work, caught the last 10 minutes. Usually in a 4-2 game I would still be nervous in the last 10 minutes, but we just completely conttrolled the play. I don't think Osgood even had to make a save. Our defense is too good. Congrats to Datsyuk, that play by Z was amazing. Pretty much sums up the series, one Detroit player beats 4 Dallas players. I have to start giving props to Hudler too. I wanted him gone at the trade deadline, but he has stepped up in a HUGE way. Can't wait for Wednesday. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Webster's should change the definition of the word 'destroy' to "Detroit Red Wings pwn you" They absolutely picked this Stars team apart, methodically and systematically. I loved how Versus started the game highlights video... They showed the Stars coming out on to the ice while the pre-game light effects and such were shining on the rink and the voice-over went (paraphrased): "Well, the Stars were on the home ice in Dallas tonight, but unfortunately for them there were also Red Wings on the ice!" This is a huge trend. How exactly do the Wings benefit from favoritism by the refs? And cheating at faceoffs? I've never been really clear on faceoff rules and whatnot, so I don't know if they cheat or not, but in every other department I fail to see how they cheat. They never fight. Their big hits are rare and always legal. Anyone else think it's just jealousy? I see a lot of people talking about how unfair it is to have Zetterberg and Datsyuk on a team. He was fairly despondent. Used the word "chasing" a few times in the first minute. Said his team is resilient, and they will not change a thing. (I couldn't make out the question asked to elicit this response, but I wonder if it had anything to do with Tuuuur-coooo.) Called Zets & Dats a "rare breed."
