Jedi 1,865 Report post Posted May 15, 2008 (edited) Well, for all the fuss about the disallowed goal (which was bs, don't get me wrong), we still didn't do enough to earn the win. We went O-for on the PP, when we had a chance to completely strangle them in the 2nd with the 3 straight calls. That, and Dallas controlled the style of play all game long, not Detroit. Yeah, it's easy to blame the refs, and yeah, that first goal could have changed the whole attitude of the game, but we really have no one to blame but ourselves for the loss. Too many posts. We didn't look as sharp tonight as we did last game and we need that back for Saturday's game at the Joe. I suppose I'm not as pissed about Homer's goal being taken away considering the Stars won by more than 1, but that call sure as hell stole the momentum and allowed Dallas to get their first lead of the series. The first Wing goal should have counted and when Datsyuk was dumped into Turco that should have counted. Oh well. In the long run it will be good for the Wings. It will let them know they have to work for the win every night. Datsyuk wasn't dumped; he dove for the loose puck and his momentum carried him into Turco; can't force the goalie into the net. We had 2 goals disallowed, and a host of penalties not called. I want Bettman's head on a stick for this one. I know he had something to do with it! This game was for the people that believe losers should get tropheys for showing up. The Stars couldn't do it on their own, so the refs had to get their trophey for them...bulls***. Kiss my ass refs. Dude Bettman has nearly destroyed the entire professional version of the sport in North America, no one is going to do a damned thing about a singular game. Pittburgh is going to sweep tomorrow, which means they'll be sitting around at least 2 days waiting for this game. This is a huge loss, because we should be skating away with the Campbell Conference trophy right now, which is probably why that s***bag Bettman was in the arena in the first place. Someone said Wings were 0 for 6 on the PP, well that first GOAL, yes it was a goal, was a powerplay goal, it also put the Wings up 1-0, huge momentum change if the Wings have the lead. If that goal stands, Dallas doesn't win this game... ...horrible game by the refs, unbelievable, but I mentioned this after game 2 to a Dallas fan, I said something like Dallas will be lucky to go 5 if the refs give them a game in Dallas, and low and behold, here it was. I guess it's good that Osgood got his loss out of the way, we all knew he wasn't gonna win every game up until they hoist the Cup. He's human... ...would have felt better if the Wings had actually lost this game fair and square, but much like the gas prices, what are you gonna do? I know the Stars cannot feel like they won this game on their own merits, Wings goal should have counted, Stars goal shouldn't have, should have been 2-1 Wings after Zetterberg scored... ...enjoy the game Bettman? I am sure you were there to make sure YOUR refs did their job as you instructed them to, did they do a good job for you? Wanna bet he instructs them to do the same Saturday so Turco can get a win in Detroit? I bet it happens and they have to go back to Dallas for game 6... But those other 2 guys need to step it up, since our 1st line right now is our only line. I knew we'd miss Franzen eventually, since our top line carried us the last 2 games without him allowing the WIngs to still win. Anyway, what's Franzen's status for game 5?
