kinda yes, it means like ... how do you say it.. Gods gift?

Vlad,

By the way, why is 'Zelepukin' so funny in Russian? I am imagining something involving men and an unsavory part of the anatomy.

Just wondering...

To pick on the Flames a bit:

Phaneuf always makes me laugh...I call him "Fluff n Stuff" (ironic because he's really not, but I just don't like him!)

and Iginlia sounds like some horrible stomach virus!

There's a guy playing for the WB/S Penguins named Ryan Stone...like a Ryan Stone Cowboy...I know I know ...I'm older than the stuff under dirt...but my username should be a giveaway to older Wings fans...

Not all NHL..... but some great ones. The last 2 actually do exist. No joke.

Toby Os***ola: Soccer player (striker) for Barnet (UK).

Jack Glasscock: Shortstop and second baseman for Cleveland, 1879-95.

Harry Colon: Former defensive back for the Detroit Lions.

Rusty Kuntz: Former outfielder for the Detriot Tigers.

Dean Windass: Soccer player (forward) for Middlesbrough in the UK.

Ron Tugnutt: NHL goalie (Dallas Stars).

Misty Hyman: US Olympic swimmer.

Gregor f***a: Slovenian basketball player who now plays for Barcelona.

Pull Dickoff: Soccer player for West Ham United in the UK.

:yowza: trés bien.

this one doesn't sound dirty at all, but i've always been amazed by how Byfuglien sounds like "buff-lenn."

Actually, it would be more like naming your kid John Johnson or Andy Anderson.

If I'm not mistaken, Fedor = Theodore in Russian.

off topic, but I saw some one named Michael Michaels...

Sorry for the late reply. But I am living in Europe and it was like bedtime yesterday haha...

Zelepukin is funny because you can divide it in Zele and Pukin....

Zele looks like Zelenyj = Green

Pukin can be from the word Pukat which means Fart or Farting

So he gets green farts ... very populair guy at school when he was young ;-))

Greetings!

Thanks for the explanation. That would be a pretty bad name to have as a kid. :yowza: I am sure that he was teased constantly.

I used to work with a lady whose husband's name was Harold Dyck. Never Harry. Wonder why.

I also knew a Sandy Beach, a Candy Kane, and a Chanda Lier. I went to college with a girl named Maresch, who married a guy named Melo and she hypenated. Maresch-Melo.

Zidlicky and Bonk always make me laugh. Every time I hear Bonk, I always have to say "Bonk, Bonk, Bonk" to myself for no real reason other than it's amusing.

Lasse Kukkonen I always thought that was a weird name

That was the first one that game to mind--sounds bizarre, especially when those (damn) versus announcers say it fast.

Also, this is from the mlb, but my addition to the list of funny names would be Milton Bradley.
