hardcoretom21 71 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 100% agree with that, no urgency what so ever, they gave the Stars so much room while they were making their way down the ice. The Stars aren't gonna go away by themselves, the Wings have to put them away. Very disappointing

ozmanftw 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 It's hard to argue against us being a one-line-team right now. Dats and Zetterberg had to play so much in the last ten minutes, it's no wonder even they couldn't generate anything. Hopefully Franzen returns for game 6 and the rest of the team gets a lift from it.
CAredwingsfan91 28 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 i think they let up too much on the physical game they were getting momentum from that and they had their chances but couldn't capitalize on them. we still have the lead in the series they just need to find that desire to win again, babcock will without a doubt have them skating 100 times harder in game 6. Guest 2mins4hooking Report post Posted May 17, 2008 It is a total disaster. I have no confidence this team will show up in game 7. If we dont win on Monday, we might just make history again. What a let down and a s***ty start to a weekend. you're correct - this is 1942 all over again
dr_lobster 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 The inability to get pucks on net was pretty frustrating.

Wingsfan25161929 3 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 Dallas came out strong from the beginning of the game. That right there sent up a red flag for me. I saw the first five minutes of the game and knew there was going to be trouble. Obviously it's time to shake up some things here. Does anyone think that putting McCarty, Draper, and Maltby together could jump start the team?? Just a thought, I'm not sure if it's been tried since McCarty has returned. interminded 1 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 Dumb ass mistakes clearly cost us the game today. Bad effort, just bad. Time to wake up.
Wings_Fan_In_Exile 3 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 Hopefully the boys will at least take from the last two games that being at the game isn't enough to win. I hate to say this, but Dallas earned the last two.. bad call and all (game 4). Wake up f***ers!!! Cheli, Sammy, Cleary... dude, WTF?

scotvm 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 So, here's the deal. The Wings just need to win 1 of the next 2 games. IT'S GONNA HAPPEN yeah and a few days ago it was "the wings just need to win 1 of the next 4 games" im officially concerned
aflac9262 211 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 It wouldn't be the Wings without the dramatics Fact is, it's a whole new series now. Dallas is in it, and they look very determined. It can go either way really.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 Our top line did nothing in this game. All 3 of those guys kept turning pucks over and missing the net wide. I don't have confidence in the top line right now either, the way they played tonight. I thought we were going to throw the kitchen sink at Dallas in the 3rd, instead we shot a pistol at them which had a white flag come out of it instead of bullets. As far as the other lines, those guys have been inconsistent all year. The only change I'd make is to move Hudler up to the 2nd line for Sammy. However, both Cleary and Flip have sucked also. savaking72 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 Gee, I don't know what to say. Where are the wings that started the playoffs, started the series for that matter? Glad to see there are some guys on the team who still mind playing gritty. As for Sammy and Val they need a real lesson in hitting. They pass up every hit they are presented with. How come no one was going to the net? Are the Star's defense this good that they can keep Dats and Zetterberg to the out side? The whole series they have playing towards the net. Not once in this game today can I remember ANYONE crashing the net (besides Hudler's goal). How are we going to score goals from the point? Holmstrom wasn't even there today. Have the Wings's lost their nerve?

gordie_howe 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 Homer took a dumb penalty. Drapes better be careful, I don't know if the league will review his crosscheck on Morrow's face. We'll see. Dallas played outstanding. Wings seemed not to push forward. Can't do this Wings.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 you're correct - this is 1942 all over again Nah, this is 1998 all over again. By that I mean, Wings in 6.
Firehawk 305 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 Anyways, for some constructive criticism: The wings looked off today in terms of their passing. they were taking the extra second to make plays which allowed Dallas to swarm them. This was like role reversal from a few games ago. The wings were dominating the same way Dallas did today. I think Detroit will be special in Dallas on Monday. Detroit has gone into their opponents' buildings in the past and eliminated them.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted May 17, 2008 No joke man. No joke. I think not being able to go past the first round three years or more straight is called a joke. So are trolls who pop out only when their team is doing well, but disappear when things go bad. Fail
Guest 2mins4hooking Report post Posted May 17, 2008 Another gem bookmaked for posterity. I expect you to make an appearance when the Wings win this series. And they will win it. you already look like a fool
