Sidney Crosby's series thoughts

Yes, I am the Sidney Crosby.

- Imo, Pens are the underdogs for the first time this playoff year going into the Finals.

- Pens need to exploit Osgood because, in my opinion, he's not good. However, getting quality shots is another story since the RWs have a very good defensive system.

- Malkin needs to keep his head up; I'm worried about Kronwall (sp?) crushing him

- Pens haven't faced anyone even close to Datysuk and Zetterberg (Spezza, Healtly, and Alfredsson seemed to be sleepwalking in the Senators series), so they'll probably stick Staal's line against them and hope for the best.

- Pens have been playing 4 forwards on the PP unit and have been giving up way too many shorthanded chances, that's not a good formula against the RWs.

- On that note, the Pens have what I call a "one minute PP"; they put all their best players on the 1st PP unit and if they don't score then the PP is pretty much over since the 2nd unit is worthless.

- Letang is the Pens most underrated player and one of the most underrated in the NHL. He reminds me of Chelios, back when Chelios was actually good.

- I'm not sure how much of Crosby you have seen, but he's better than you think. Malkin, when "on", can be even better. However, Malkin isn't always "on", while Crosby is.

- Pens play a great team system, like the RWs.

- The Pens need to win one in Detroit.

Sorry for type-o's, I don't feel like proof-reading

At least one thing he got right is that Malkin needs to keep his head up. He's definitely more susceptible of receiving a big hit.

I believe it will be revealed after the season that Malkin had a mild concussion in game one....a wicked Richards hit just before Malkin scored the short handed goal...

add to that a case of the flu...and yeah...he was limited in games 2-5....

With a week to heal and rest...he will be 100% Saturday night...Geno does not normally shy away from physicality

Sidney Crosby will be referring to himself in the third person, except during formal occasions when the royal "we" is preferred. Example: "We believe that was a penalty, ref."

HAHAHA I just noticed that the sidney crosby talks in the 3rd person. Hahaha holy s*** that is funny. Instead of saying when im on malking sometimes isnt he says - I'm not sure how much of Crosby you have seen, but he's better than you think. Malkin, when "on", can be even better. However, Malkin isn't always "on", while Crosby is.

also sidney need to be more positive he shouldnt be posting on LGW - Malkin needs to keep his head up; I'm worried about Kronwall (sp?) crushing him

wow, so with the Wings having home ice advantage, meaning 4 games at home in Detroit while the Pens only having 3 at home, you used your great hockey insight to intuit that the Penguins need to win one in Detroit to win the series.

That's some pretty great analysis.

as for the rest of your post, sorry, I didn't feel like reading.

I think it's absolutely hilarious how both the Avs and Stars went into their series thinking they had a goaltending advantage....and got crushed. Ozzie outplayed both Theodore and Turco in the stat sheet and in the win column.

Now here come the Pens thinking they have a goaltending advantage, and don't get me wrong, M-A Fleury's numbers are brilliant. But so are Ozzie's. Osgood has 88 games of playoff experience, including 8 Finals games - these are his third. Fleury has 19, which is almost his age.

So, Pens fans: Colorado had a respectable defense in front of Theodore. Dallas had a respectable defense in front of Turco. And both were considered to have the goaltending advantage. And we see how that turned out. What makes you think Fleury's going to be different, especially figuring with the considerable experience gap?

There's a thread on one of the Pens boards talking about how the Pens have thsi HUGE advantage over the Wings, and then go on to cite .001 differences in stat numbers. :P

I don't care about stats, because they never hold true. Right now both teams are playing great hockey. Best finals matchup in years. This is going to be one for the ages, I think.

No predictions. Evenly matched, stacked with talent, this series can go either way, at any time. Even if one is up 3-0 in the series, Dallas just showed us that it means very little.

Good catch, Harold. I missed that one.

So Sid, answer me this and I'll know if you are faking it: Are you an innie or an outie?

ETA: A correct answer does not ascertain identity; an incorrect one busts you.
