Did anyone else feel sick?

First off i gotta say, what a game the other night!!.

However, was i the only one who felt like throwing up watching that whining classless therrin hugging his bench and screaming for joy?

After the tactics that man has used all series well...i just don't think people with that attitude belong in hockey or sport for that matter.

Sorry this issue has been beaten to death, i just had to get it off my chest!

I'm not sure why exactly, but I did feel physically sick to my stomach when they scored. I laid down and tried to sleep, but all I could do was lay there because I was so pissed off. I knew when the ref called Huds for the 4 minute minor that the Wings were not going to win the game. I was hoping they could come up with the PK, but they were just too tired at that point. It'll be made up for if the Wings can win the Cup tomorrow night though, and see all the Penguins fans and their players sheding tears.

Every single man and woman at my office this morning was sleep deprived and grumpy this morning. I don't think I spoke with a single person who wasn't up at least into the 1st OT the night before. I'm talking about at least 30 people, too. Huge line at the coffee machine and commisseration in every cubicle, office and conference room. Tough night for the Detroit fans.

I had trouble sleeping last night, not because I was pissed off or stuff like that, I just couldn't fall asleep for whatever reason.

Losing hurts, but this one is quite the hurting one. While I'm always nervous during playoff games and things like that and suspension was definitely building as time was winding down in the 3rd period, I try not to take this stuff so seriously that I throw stuff at the TV or yell and rant and things like that.

When the tying goal by Pitt was scored, I just collapsed down in my sofa for a few seconds, then composed myself and got upbeat/optimistic again. When the OT goal was scored, I collapsed again briefly and then just changed the channel and watched TV for a short while. While a loss like this never just leaves the mind quickly, I put it behind me pretty well, eventually lied in bed and really didn't think about it much today at work.

It's definitely been in the back of my mind today, but it hasn't eaten at me alive.

My dad turned off the television not two seconds after the goal was scored. I agreed. I went to bed, because I knew I'd be fuming if I didn't.

Woke up and played some EHM. Therrien got fired :D .. and the whiny little f*** is now an assistant coach for my UHL team. Serve me, f*****! (meanwhile, Crosby broke his leg in practice and is out for 5 months. Die die die die die)

I agree. For me it was probably the worse loss I have ever witnessed, and the hardest EVER to take, far worse than game 6 last year vs the Ducks. At least that game it seemed over rather early. But last night when we went up 3-2. I said to my buddies, "Thats it. The cup is coming home tonight". Then all those "WE WANT THE CUP" chants for me so giddy and I was so excited. Then they showed the cup being buffed up and I was like HOLY s***!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D. Then when the game got tied I was like oh. my. god. And I to got a VERY sick feeling in my stomach in the 3rd OT. :( I've still felt down all day today. I just can't seem to shake it at all.

I think the tying goal was worse than the game winning goal or their coach's reaction. I'm sorry but that goal felt like being ran over by a boulder in one of those Indiana Jones movies lol

Half-way through the first Overtime, I developed the worst heartburn of my life, which of course intensified and lasted through the rest of the game. Can't imagine how the players felt...

i almost s*** myself when the pens scored with 35 left. thing is i sorta had a feeling they would the second mule didn't clear. but even so, i was shocked when it happened.

then again i still wasn't at throw-up status. i think the fact that we still lead this thing 3-2 and have yet to close a playoff series at home settled my stomach a bit.

we WILL win game six. i know i know its been said before but its true.

I had to kinda watch the game on and off since most of it was during work, but the Penguins kept scoring when I was there to watch, and the Wings kept scoring when I was away from the TV. I got back home in time for the 2nd OT, after that Hudler penalty I knew in the back of my mind that it was over but I left the TV to see if superstition would work out again. Guess it didn't :/

I was incredibly sick to my stomach. We had pizza, wings, salad, and drinks and I didn't eat or drink anything from the second the puck dropped till the game was over. I was SO nervous and I kept holding my stomach and shaking. Haha

And my heart rate? Yeah lets not go there.

The only time I can remember being this depressed/pissed off about a loss was in 2002. If memory serves, it was Game 6 against Colorado and Peter Forsberg had just scored a goal off a cute little intentional skate deflection that put the game out of reach for the Wings.

At the time, being the overwhelmed pessimist that I was, I thought theyd get booted out in Game 7. Man, did they prove me wrong. I expect to see the same tonight. After that devestating loss, the Wings are going to come out with a convincing win, just for me! :hehe:

I woke up several times with messed up nightmares, with everything from xena warrior princess climbing walls in a large metal corridor, taking drugs that gave me pink eye and made my eyes swell up (I think they were called fish pebbles), and laying down on the platform my restaurant uses to put food on so it stays warm under the heat lamps...

I always make sure to watch the celebrations of the teams I hate. Watch it , let it sink in deep, and remember it. For when your team wins, it makes it that much sweeter.

But yes, it made me sick and whenever I see MT, I am full of disgust. I can respect most players and coaches on other teams in the heat of battle, but I dispise everything about the Penguins coach.

All in all though, this has been some great hockey!

I still feel sick two days later.

I had a bad feeling the whole game, my dad was going insane around the last minute but i had a gut feeling they were going to tie it up.

Honestly, if we don't win tonight, I don't know what i'll do with my life.

Sometimes i wish i didn't care so much.

Well, I remember when I used to feel that way back in the 1995 season when they were beat by the Devils. I was a new fan then, and I felt ill when the Devils trashed them. I felt ill when Colorado did the same thing to them in 1996. Even in 1997 when they lost tight games, I felt sick.

When I started playing hockey in 1998 for the first time is when everything changed.

You start to understand what those players go through out on the ice. When a bounce goes against you and goes for you. I play goalie, and I have been on the side of thrilling victories and demoralizing defeats. When I lifted my first rec league hockey trophy, I felt like I was on cloud 9. Nothing made me feel more sick than being up on a team 5-3 in a title game and then having 3 goals scored on me in the final 5 minutes to lose in regulation.

After the game on Monday night, I just went to bed. I didn't feel sick nor was I worried. Just another game. If it was game 7, I probably would be a little sad, but it wasn't. You just have a whole new appreciation for the sport when you play it.

Not that my pain is worse than others, but imagine how I felt driving 9 hours to get to Detroit, and being 34.6 seconds away from witnessing the Wings win the Stanley Cup only to have it pulled out from under you and then losing 3 OT's later.

Sick doesn't come close to describing how Shelly and I felt (and still do at the time).

Sidenote: We're home now, as we arrived early last night.
