RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 Watch the YouTube video of the thing and keep Stevie on.Now THATS a way to end the day Good advice. I'm switching back and forth because the Stevie program is really good! How long must I suffer through all these lame jokes before I get to see Lids/Oz? RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 Awwww - I thought it was cute. They both had their hair done all nice - for their 2 mins of Leno! lol Hey at least he invites the SC champs on the show every year - even if it's just for a few mins. It's exposure I suppose. Damn long plane ride just for that though......
wingnut22 81 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 I thought they were going to be actual guests. I don't think they were on the air for even 2 minutes. Hardly worth it. Should have went on Conan instead. I agree that they should have been on conan, I love conan haha.
VladyIBELIEVE16 257 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 Well Carson Daly's show was interesting. FIrst I'd like to mention it was posted ON the site that it was Ozzie and Zetterberg. It was actually Ozzie and Lidstrom. They were filming in the studio next door and then came over from the Leno show for the Carson Show. There were four Red Wing Fans. I wore my Red Zetterberg jersey and was the only girl red wing fan. Ozzie looked RIGHT at me when they came out on stage . Carson asked them about the game FIVE LOSS.... seriously....WHY?! Anyway the guy that led the audience was from michigan and he met with Ozzie and Lids backstage and he gave the guy from Warren hats - they gave one to me! HOORAY! It sucked not getting to see it close up. I wish I could've gone up to see it. TheWestWing had been at the Leno taping and told me right before that wings fans went up. I wish they had let us do the same on Carson's show.....there were only four of us for crying out loud.
Chelichic 12 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 (edited) I watched it. I liked it. Thought it was funny. Could have been on longer, but still great to see them and some fans from Detroit there. GO WINGS!!! Edited June 11, 2008 by Chelichic

Outsider 42 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 Ahahahaha! That wasn't nearly as bad as I'd feared it would be. It was embarrassing, sure, but in a goofy way. They looked like exactly what they are: Two quiet, humble guys who were totally out of their element, but proud to be representing Detroit, the Detroit Red Wings, and hockey in general. They did a great job, as far as I'm concerned. Oh.....And for those who are thinking that it's an awfully long flight for 2 minutes on Leno.... I'm sure they can find something to do for the rest of the day, even in the wilderness that is Southern California.

Elshupacabra 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 (edited) So...was it just me or did they cut the Wings part out of the show? (Carson's) Edited June 11, 2008 by Elshupacabra

Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 Brendan sat down and got interviewed in 1997. Steve went on Letterman in 1998, sat down and was interviewed. Steve went on Regis in 2002 (I believe), sat down and was interviewed. Why couldn't these two be afforded the same courtesy? Even if it was for 5 minutes, it would have been better than seeing them in some awkward sketch singing and dancing.
Coolio Mendez 7 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 I'm disappointed with Leno, all that hype for a 30 second song? I wanted a damn interview so the people can see Osgoods and Lidstroms great personailty. I'm sure Ozzie had a few jokes up his sleeves. Why not give them a better script to work with, instead of making a fool out themselves. Damn Leno, and Damn Timberlake for punishing us with that song I wished to never hear again. PenaltyShot 96 521 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 I'm so glad Lids and Ozzie were effectively used as props to introduce Justin Timberlake... I still give them both props, the awkwardness is partly what made it funny haha and it was cool that they let the Wings fans in the audience touch the cup. Kinda creepy though when Jay hugged the female fan for a really long time... I guess I mistakenly believed they were going to be actual guests. I think the two of them would have been very entertaining, plus I wanted the scoop on all the after party goodness!
Happy Pancake 6 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 10 minutes only?!?! So how far into the Stanley Cup raising did you get? Ozzie was the last person I saw lifting the Cup.
Redwingsfan18 1 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 lol it was kind of clever how they used ozzie and nick to introduce JT but at the same time I thought they'd get more air. Oh well, better then nothing and still pretty funny

Louisville 112 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 I remember the year the Ducks lost in the finals, j.s. giguere talked to Jay for an actual interview. Whatever happened last night was a joke.
DEVILSWATERBOY 10 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 Highly dissapointed in Leno him being a Detroiter should have done Lids and Ozzie better blow me Leno you are a pile of crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Drimo 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 I thought it was kind of silly, but I didn't really expect much from Leno. I prefer to watch Letterman. Anyway, I thought it was interesting when Leno asked where Ozzie and Lids are from and Ozzie responds with "cold wintery place called Canada" and Lidstrom said Sweden. Jay's body language seemed to be like "oh...foreigner.." That would have been a great time to say Lidstrom is the 1st European captain to win The Cup, but I guess it is all about appealing to the mindless audience. And I would have bum rushed the stage if I were there in Wings gear, too!
12Newf 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 (edited) wow...sorry nbc, that was pathetic. less than 2 minutes? at least the uncomfortable dancing was awesome haha. if they knew about the dancing they should have liquored up lebda and downey and sent them out! Opie 308 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 (edited) That was bad, as in nowhere near good!!! What a disgrace, Lids did not look happy to be there, and that lady Jay was hugging just wanted to shake Ozzie's hand and he wouldn't stop molesting her!
