Interesting Fedorov Article

Seriously? The amount of crap you throw at the guy is surprising. The guy certainly isn't worth $4M anymore but after watching all of Russia's games during the WC and most of Washington's games after Feds went there I can assure you that the guy can still contribute. I don't expect him to sign for less than $3M/year.

Oh and the comment "He needed the Wings more than the Wings needed him" made me laugh; but at the same time I sort of agree with you. They guy was amazing in Detroit and was a huge part of Detroit's victories. You can see that the move to Columbus broke him and he wasn't nearly the same player there. I hope he resigns with the Caps and doesn't disappear to Russia.

Go read the article again people and see who makes the comment *hint* its not Fedorov.

But then again, when did Wings fans let the truth get in the way of their anti-Sergei predjudice?

100% agreed. The train has sailed for fedorov

 that made me laugh , i've never seen a train sailing before. but anyway back on subject . Feds has always been a high earner in the NHL most of his career but he's also been one of the top end player's in recent history and IMO deservedly should have been a top earner . steadily his play has declined as he's got older but thats expected . it happens to all the greatest . people on here look at his stats and say he's not deserving of what he gets paid because his points production has dropped . but his duties on the team's he's been playing for has changed too . he's been asked to be more defensive minded or even he's played Defence so that's bound too happen . the facts are the guy will get paid what a GM is willing to pay him .

lolololoolololololol I think half this board is trolling at the moment

How am I trolling exactly? I like Sergei Fedorov, but if he honestly believes he's worth 4 million, I dont know what to say. He's been pretty bad for Columbus the past 3 years, he went to Washington and was a whole new player. 2 million dollars, to play with 2 of Russias brightest young stars isnt enough? If Jagr went to to Russia League, then Fedorov could too. Although, I still think he'll sign in Washington.

I can give you 40 million truthful reasons for it.

Ohh God, here we go again. Time for the monthly Fedorov debate. :ranting::scared::blink::ranting:

What I find more annoying about these threads is the people that complain about them (though TBH I don't find this thread that annoying anyway)

Since leaving the Red Wings, Fedorov has yet to have a positive +/- and he has averaged 13.6667 goals a season since the lockout. Compare that to what people project Filppula should earn as a developing player who is only gonna get better after scoring 19 goals and 36 pts, along side a +16. Fedorov should be thanking his lucky stars he has been making $6mil during his large slide instead of wishing for a better deal. He has plenty of money and he is in the twilight of his career, but his attitude hasn't changed. The sad thing is, with a better attitude, Fedorov could have had an even better career, but he blew it by following the all mighty dollar. It may just be his agent, but its not like he hasn't been here before. Where he goes from here speaks volumes to his legacy in the NHL.

Didn't see this post.

When you read the whole sentence, to me it's fairly clear they're talking about Lysenkov.

They are. Its saying that Lysenkov thinks the 2 million dollar offer is humiliating, and he hopes it convinces Feds to go to the KHL. Nowhere does it say that Feds found it humiliating.

Plus Russian press ALWAYS exagerates these kind of things, remember all the stuff they said about Grigorenko too last sesaon.

I think Feds is waiting to work something fair out with Washington, and I bet its a 1-2 year deal worth about 3-3.5 a year.

You do know that jagr is only getting 5 mil a year in Russia? Some NHL teams (pens) were ready to give up that mush money to get him. But he was more concerned over the length of the contract, than what he was being paid.

as for feds, he's worth 3.5-ish. 4 mill is pushing it, but than again someone will probably pay it.

I thought Jagr was getting 7M (tax free) in Russia, and I wouldn't even spend 2M on Fedorov

Fine then... offer him $2.1 million. He's one of those few NHL players that it IS all about the money. He isn't worth anything more than what the Caps offered him, and if it doesn't suit his liking, then he can retire. He's cried about contracts and money before, about the same time I lost respect for the guy when he was on Detroit. I agree with the poster that said he didn't play like he was worth 6 million when he did get his money. You are way past your prime Mr. Fedorov, stop embarassing yourself, anyone can put up more points on a line with Ovechkin.
