We will sell out every game this year.

I guarantee we do. With the Tigers and Lions sucking it up, the Wings and Pistons are all we have left. So therefore we will sell out every game. 20,066+ will be at every game this year.

bold statements!! i hope your right :) !!

I would love for you to be correct. But I don't see it happening. With the economy, high gas prices and the fact the wings raised tickets prices, its not going to happen. There may be an increase of asses in the seats, especially with the east teams coming in. But columbus, St'Louis, Nashville, Vancouver, Minne, sorry most of those games are not selling out. Hell, i get to 15-20 games a year, and I can tell you I have to cut back. Gas and tickets sales increase are going to cut a few games from my budget.

20.066 people eh, JLA has gotta be one of the biggest arena's among the american nhl teams? together with MSG perhaps?`

And how come americans whine about gas prices, they are still like 75% cheaper than in europe.

The last part is actually quite funny in a way. Although i can understand them, the prices has risen to about the double or something, right?

Are they doing those $9 seats again this year? (I think it was 8 or 9). And did anybody take advantage of that deal?

I only come back to Detroit every now and then and would definitely like to see a few games.

And I would especially prefer spending money on this team rather than the Lions...:ranting:

I would have to agree with the above statement. The economy and high gas prices being a big part of it.

You need to realize, though,t hat Americans have a much longer commute than anywhere else in the world, I think. We simply have to drive longer and more frequently, thus burning more gas. So having cheaper gas, in the long run, isn't really that much cheaper. And as for getting new cars, they're expensive. A lot of people still have to pay off their trucks and cars and can't afford a 45,000 hybrid or anything. Also, going from 23 mpg to 30 mpg isn't really a big enough leap to merit doling out a whole lot of cash for an expensive new car. THe cars that get higher mpg are generally too small be of use to an American family with kids. EUrope has the advantage of having subways and rail going everywhere, in the US those aren't common.

Unfortunately, I have to agree that the seats won't be sold out. Michigan's economy has gotten much worse.

I'm almost positive they are. Could have sworn they had them listed on Ticketmaster when I was looking up a game in December.

They will have the $9 seats again. JLA box office only I believe.

On a side note. If you take the people mover to the games, it will be faster to get there, it's running the other way now. However, going home after a tough loss will be longer.

bingo bango

This year will finally show its not the competition from other sports teams that are causing the wings to no sell out. Ecomony here is even worse than it was last year... things aren't looking any better.

Magic 8-ball here at work says, "can't make predictions on such outlandish statements"

Unfortuantly those are the FIRST to go... you show up at the box office you are dropping $50+ for sure... they suck you in with the limited amount of "cheap seats" then get you to buy more. Great marketing though.

I will say that the $9 seats WILL SELL OUT every game :)

I bought the $9 tickets for a couple of games already on TicketMaster. They really end up being $15 after the "convenience charge" from there though.

...so how bad are these seats? :D

I find that to be the most ridiculous and laughable concept. Who the hell is it "convenient" for? Ticket Master not needing to hire live phone employees to take ticket orders sure makes things "convenient" for them. Where's the convenience for us that's supposedly worth $5 per ticket?

So like how big crowd is it usually in let's see... mid november? around 18.000 out of 20.066? or what? From tv-perspective it looks good, maybe the empty seats are in ******-heaven? :D
