MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 It appears that the St. Louis Blues will be without defenceman Erik Johnson longer than expected as the team announced the blue liner suffered a tear of both his ACL and MCL and will be sidelined indefinitely. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=250455&lid...os=secStory_nhl
Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 OMG, wow, that sucks for him and the Blues, and quite frankly, us. He's a great talent, it'll suck not seeing him for a while.

stormboy 47 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 i mean, it always sucks when a player gets injured...but i somehow have less sympathy for the guy when he hurt it getting out of a golf cart. the word "preventable" comes to mind. as if the blues need any help sucking. Yeah- all hockey players should be chained up in empty rooms while waiting to play for our enjoyment!

Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 Hope he gets better quick. On a side note...does anyone else suspect that if a Wing got injured, that the Blues board would be laughing and wishing he'd have gotten hurt worse right now instead of offering well wishes? How in the world do you prevent that injury? It's not like he fell off his dirtbike after an afternoon of drinking or something stupid like that. He took part in an activity that geezers with replaced hips enjoy on a lazy day.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 That suck for Johnson, he's a great talent. But I love seeing anything that makes the Blues suffer, sorry, but the worse they are the better.

Those guys can afford caddies!

Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 Of course he'll miss the entire season, an ACL/MCL double is about the worst thing you could suffer. Poor guy.

Better for who? You? Not better for the Red Wings, we need teams to challenge us during the season so we stay sharp. It's like if Team Canada played all the national teams from South America, then had to play Sweden. Nothing good would come form that lol. that is why it was a blessing that we had so much trouble in our division last year, because it prepared us for the playoffs. Years past, our division sucked. The team that challenged us the most in the playoffs was the team from our own division.

zata40 3 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 damn, sucks for that kid. But life happens, here's to a flawless recovery. I hope this doesn't effect his career in the future, one season out could really hurt him. He has such great potential. That being said, I hate the blues, even more their fans. I don't like seeing players getting hurt, but I love getting their team fail.

Somehow hockey players going on a social golfing outing doesn't lend itself to the assumption that it was an alcohol-free event.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 Wow, so this is just what Burke was waiting for. JDs a good GM. While it makes a lot of sense for the Blues to go out and grab Schneider, theres no reason for the Blues to rush it. Burke only has until the start of the season to pare down his payroll, and Schneider's salary may be effected in a positive way for any takers if Burke has his hands tied in a few weeks. 12Newf 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 (edited) wow talk about a freak accident. i definitely feel for the guy but seriously when something like this happens you should just lie and say you were doing something super manly like having sex with a model on the hood of a monster truck using motor oil as lube.
