the players (namely Hank and Dats) just seem.....off.

Theres nothing off about Datsyuk. Hes been dominating. But theres only so much he can do by himself. Hossa and Datsyuk need to eat, sleep and s*** together for the next week. Otherwise, they just arent connecting.

Zetterberg has looked better this game, but hes still not all there in my eyes. His shots, his moves, his strength - it all just seems a little bit off.

Yea, I can agree with that. These guys just really need to start connecting with each other...

So they don't need to "mesh" during the PP?

One nice play doesn't take away all the disorientation that has plagued them on the PP otherwise. Theyve looked better so far, but particularly the interaction between Hossa and Datsyuk so far has been nothing to write home about. It'll get there though.

I dont think Hossa is used to playing with anyone like Datsyuk...he isnt as alert to the miracle moves he can make as Z was. I still think its a chemistry thing and will turn aroung though

Time for me to go to softball and finish watching the game when I get home at 10...

Crosby and Malkin arent comparable players to Datsyuk?

I'd like to see

Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Franzen

Hossa-Filppula-Homer

atleast sometime during the season.

Not that this is looking all that bad, and I'm sure it will get much better as the new lines get more in tune.

Still think that Hossa is just waiting for the playoffs though. That's why he came to Detroit, I doubt he is going to give it his all during atleast the first 70 games.

But a Hossa playing at 80% is still a good player..

P.S. Franzen is amazing. He's a completely different player now than he was in the beginning of last season.

Doesn't prove much to me that they can score a pretty goal on the PP. Start showing some even strength skills.

I hate to break the news to you, but the PP kinda plays a big role in the NHL and the Red Wings. Regardless whether it's a PK goal, PP goal or even strength goal they need all the time they can get to "mesh"

*edit* And here comes the have Flip center Hossa...

Tell that to the rest of the team too. At least that goal showed there are signs of things to come.

Just need a good third period with some good amount of effort. Maybe Lilja can make himself useful and pound Staal's face.
