It's redundant, but that move by Hossa was just unreal. He is aboslutely on fire and it's been incredible to watch. Here's hoping he can keep it up.

In regard to Quincey, I'm not saying he's not a great young defenseman, but the Wings have at least 4 or 5 better guys in their system. He was just a good player on a very, very deep team and he got squeezed out. The Wings won't really miss him at all. I wish him all the best, though. He seems like a good guy.

Mac, BlueMonk, could one of you kindly unpin the Weekend Picks thread? Thanks! :)

And I really don't like that 4th line. It's frustrating because we have great prospects who can play the same role yet better but for one reason or another they just won't get a shot.

Whats most annoying is that you know nothing is going to change. Mac, Malts, and Drapes are here to stay because of the Wings loyalty - which I appreciate and respect fromt the Wings - and Kopay is staying because hes BFFs with Hossa. So basically, there isn't a spot on the roster open. And you know, with the way Hudler and Sammy have been putting up numbers that they won't be on the outs either. So basically we're stuck with what we have, unless Babs has the stones to scratch a guy like Kopay or Malts consistently and we trade Lebdas sorry ass for a gritty 4th liner whos making close to league minimum.

Cap space and the Wings' system. They don't rush their prospects which makes them better in the long run.

However, I will say that 4th line is looking old.

Can we go ahead and sign Hossa already? Deal with the cap later like the Ducks and Devils always do :)

I want that guy's jersey so bad but I don't want to shell out $110 if it's going to just be a one-year deal. That guy is amazing!

I still grin every time I think about how he turned down $105 million to be here...

 Lebda, just give it up.

Agreed again. I love our loyalty but sooner or later we're going to have to make the decisions that are best for the club in the long term. Maltby is contracted for next season right? Because I can see Abdelkader having to play out another year in the AHL just so we let Malts play out his contract. Ideally, Maltby and Draper are gone next season. Babcock scratching Malts the other day is a good sign though.

True. I'd argue that Helm and Abdelkader are superior to Maltby and Draper right now though. The only reason they're still playing is because of our loyalty and the fact they'll be needed come playoff time.
