I don't know if this was mentioned earlier, but I hope I don't have to hear the Detroit announcers talk anymore about how tough the first game back home from a long road trip is, because the Ducks tonight proved that that excuse is a bunch of bulls***.

You're confusing the NHL with the NFL. The call on the ice has nothing to do once a goal goes to video review.

They're both the same in these regards. Even if it's an obvious high stick, if the review judges can't tell, they stick with the on-ice call.

Therefore, f*** the refs.

Actually I thought it did.

Much like the NFL, if the ref calls it a goal, that means they've got to see something on the replay worth overturning it. Even if it's not official, it's kind of common sense. They're not going to overturn a call on the ice unless they see something definitive.

I didn't see anything definitive in that replay.

you guys all must have better eyes than me. :P

It's only when the stick contacts the puck. And from the angles I saw, it was really freaking close. The camera wasn't straight on, so I couldn't tell if it was really above or not.

You're biased because you have a crush on Chris Pronger!

You have got to be ******* kidding me. Here's a big f*** you to Anaheim, the refs, and anyone on here who says this game was called fairly. That was the biggest load of bulls*** I have seen in a long, long time.

This is correct, however, that was clearly a high-stick. Even Stevie Wonder could have seen it.

In a Rikishi sort of way, I hope.

The Wings beat the Wings tonight. 3 5 on 3 goals is unacceptable.

It was a close call but clearly above the cross bar.

Well once again at least we got a point of it. We probably shouldnt have even gotten that much.

We really need to tighten up the D and stop taking these no-brainer HORRIBLE penalties!

I thought Ozzie played well for giving up 5 goals. Cant really blame him for any of them. The D is another story though...

I guess we'll have to disagree.

The call on the ice does matter in a video review, and to me that wasn't clearly a high stick.

Not saying it wasn't. Just that it clearly wasn't. Not enough to overrule the on ice official.
