GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted November 23, 2008 I'm glad that Keenan pulled the goalie, letting us pad our offensive stats some further. This was one of the most blue-collar games the Wings have played all season as a team, especially since we had to rebound from blowing a 2-0 lead.

Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted November 23, 2008 Pretty good game. The offense was pretty stagnant at times, but they still notched four goals. Lilja and Maltby had great games, and Hudler is a man who won't be denied. The defense was alright, they got worked over in the defensive zone by the cycle, but the Flames are very good at that, and in the end for all the time they spent working the puck around they didn't get very many great chances. They got their obligatory "blind wrister through traffic that we managed to build a whole Cup run around this one time" goal but I'm fairly pleased with the effort. Guest Crymson Report post Posted November 23, 2008 Good game! only player i didn't like much was Franzen, totally invisible.. he must still be feeling a bit from the injury... and lilja with that bad turnover ála ducks conference final 07 You mean besides the pass he made to Zetterberg that led to Hudler's goal? Jedi 1,865 Report post Posted November 23, 2008 Conklin was very humble in that interview with CBC. Seemed like they were trying to get him to bite on who should be #1 goalie, and he just reinforced his role of "Playing when he's called on to play, no more, no less" Very classy interview! Outsider 42 Report post Posted November 23, 2008 caps are getting their ass kicked Of course they are. Brent Johnson is a back-up goaltender who's been masquerading as a starter. He's coming back down to earth where he belongs.

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted November 23, 2008 Good heavens, lad, what do they have to do to impress you? Get hat tricks whilst tap dancing and juggling live armadillos? I can probably supply the live armadillos. I wish I could have seen the postgame... but thanks for the feed anyway, since the game was yanked off of CI thanks to Bettman TV. At least I got to see it, itty bitty, but nice feed just the same.
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted November 23, 2008 Lilja did some good things and some bad things, but he's an expert on fumbling with the puck, liability, that's for sure He did his usual puck fumbling and pylon-impersonating, but I'll take a game like that from your 6th Dman. He put in a good effort, laid out some big hits, is suddenly showing a bit of offense (enjoy that while it lasts); I don't think there's much room for complaints, all things considered. YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted November 23, 2008 You mean besides the pass he made to Zetterberg that led to Hudler's goal? Yes. Besides one little tally, he was invisible. Hossa got a goall, but he was nothing special tonight either.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted November 23, 2008 Lils gets the third star. Atta boy. I was looking for him to get into another fight, but after seeing that punch that he dropped Souray with, we might not ever see Lilja find a willing opponent ever again. dallas27 7 Report post Posted November 23, 2008 Lilja did some good things and some bad things, but he's an expert on fumbling with the puck, liability, that's for sure Lilja's deke grants him immunity for at least 10 games. I pooped myself, no joke, I had some of my mom's chili the other night. I literally had to go change my underwear. Ok, I didn't, but Lilja's deke was that good. edicius 3,269 Report post Posted November 23, 2008 Lilja got two points tonight. No complaints there. He continues to impress me more and more this season. Makes me wish I could somehow swap one of my old extra Shanny jerseys (hell, I've got three of them) for a Lils.
