Tazer 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2008 OH MAN! Its going to be so special hearing 40,000 plus the people outside yelling "DETROIT SUCKS" Well i guess there will be a couple wang fans there, but the NHL knows this is for CHICAGO. They know Kane and Toews are what they want to push to the world. HERE COME THE HAWKS...Wings time is slowly running out.

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 For those of you going to this live and dealing with the cold, you are very brave. As exciting and cool as this will be with my favorite team playing in it, it is just not worth it to me to freeze my rear end off for that much money, even if I did live in/around Chicago or Detroit. And I don't mind cold weather more often than not even though I live in a generally warm climate. I normally welcome it. Hell, the low down here was around 30 this morning and it felt good going outside. But if it's around freezing where there is rain or sleet, I can't stand that weather. I went to a football game this fall and the temperature was just below 40 the whole game with consistent wind and steady rain. I watched the whole game, but being outside for nearly four hours in those conditions was not paradise. I had sweats on under my jeans and was bundled up everywhere else and I was still freezing my tail off. I'd rather it be below freezing and snowing vs. cold rain. No precipitation + cold = Good Freezing precipitation + cold = Bad, BAD BAD BAD!
spartansbleedgreen 12 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 I think I can handle it. I attended the Cold Wars when I was at MSU and endured that. I'm more worried about my wife who thinks 65 is cold. She's a diehard though and wants to go still. I sure hope she doesn't change her mind while we are there.

There are more wings fans in the Chicago "zone" than hawks ahah I expect a good amount of Wings fans to be there but totally biased coverage for the Hawks. VladyIBELIEVE16 257 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 It was brought up at the RWNW event on Saturday that I host the Winter Classic here. Only issue is it's 10am PST....and I am not sure how many people are going to want to be up on New Years Day and be in HB for the game. socaloveswingsnotducks - keep your eyes peeled in the Group Events forum for Red Wings Nation West events! http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php?showforum=14 With that said, I really wanted to go and I love the ad
Nev 1,085 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 1) Great commercial 2) Great idea to actually advertise the Winter Classic ***not during NHL games***. For years and years it seems the NHL only advertises itself during NHL broadcasts and you're thinking "well why bother then?"

Zetterberg_40 3 Report post Posted December 4, 2008 Well, I am a Red Wings season ticket holder and I just bought my tickets through the drawing they had for us.......................YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH! I got a voicemail Monday before the game against the Ducks. I called back yesterday and secured my tickets. I was offered two seats in section 229, row 7 or section 528, row 2. I took the ones in section 528. I was told they should ship out mid-December (so next 2 weeks-ish).
