Is Stuart the best hitter in this league?

Sure, stuart is as much "the biggest hitter in the league" as is a backup goalie with a 1.00 save percentage put in late during a game leading all goalies. Sure, you can argue he's leading the pack now with some big hits that seem to stand out in mind, but yeah, he's definitely not the best consistent hitter in the league right now. There are countless others that have a bigger and better hitting reputation.

Thats reputation, so far none of them have carried it out this year, im expecting some big hits by brown and phaneuf but right now Stuart has by far the most good big hits.

Denis Gauthier is pretty good. He tends to go way out of position to do it, though.

Agreed. But when they do live up to their reputation, this won't be the case anymore. And all we're saying is that it'll be a matter of time before they do. Like when the backup goalie comes around and starts a game and his true abilities are then showcased.

Wrong. I have seen all kinds of soft hits where the player on the receiving end hits the ice, and I'm sure you have too. When you're on skates, you can lose your balance at the drop of a hat. In short, a hit doesn't have to be hard to send a player flying.

However, on the subject at hand, I would say Stuart has been one of the best hitters in the league so far this season, but not necessarily the absolute best. Regardless, what does any of that matter? He's being physical, which is exactly what he's out there to do, and that is all that should matter.

He's certainly becoming the best at sucker punching and acting like a tough guy. Recently every highlight sequence I see of the penguins losing has crosby crosschecking/slashing/sucker punching someone when he's sad because despite having the top 2 scores in the league right now, their team still sucks.

if you want quality then it's Dion Phaneuf, if you want quantity it's Mike Komisarek, and there are plenty of other guys who should be mentioned well before Brad Stuart... he's had a couple beauts though

While i htink he's the best hitter i will agree with this view, because based on merit there are a list of guys i woudl normally put ahead of him, but the video evidence shows that stuart has had the most big hits this year and thats what im basing it off of.

Show me the video evidence that Datsyuk was drafter by the Wings or actual video of Zetterberg practicing his defense while playing in Sweden. Just because there isn't video evidence doesn't mean it's not true.

Personally i look for Brown for both but he's had one good hit on Ribero this seems and then hte Robidas over the boards hit.

haha i'm sorry, i'm still quite drunk, but I don't think Stuart is near the top hitter in the league, quality or quantity, tho he has impressed me plenty with hid big hit ability this year and I think it was money well spent keeping him around. My biggest problem with Stuart is my problem with the whole Wings defense, too many turnovers. If our defense tightens a few bolts here and there, they should be the best in the league, barnone, but I'm a glass half full kinda guy so I'm gonna assume they'll get on it. As far as hitting goes, I'm sure I'm a minority but I think the Wings have been pretty damn physical even with the absence of a real grinder/banger.

Those 2 word contraindicate each other in so many different ways. 1st off a male homosexual would have nothing to do with the female ******. Second, homosexual female is only interested in another female ******, and in those relationships there is still a husband and wife role.

And you find a thread with nothing but females in it, man I have been hanging around on the wrong site.

Stuart lays down some good hits, but he is not the best on the team nor the best in the league. Only Red Wing in the last 15 years to even be considered the best hitter in the league was Vladimir Konstantinov.

Now, if you are going to start comparing Stuart to Vladdy to homosexuals and ******'s, then it's all you buddy.
