pavyaz19 1 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 Peter Forsberg is such a disgrace to the NHL... how many times will this guy skip the whole regular season and just return for the playoffs? It's despicable. He's making a mockery of everything the NHL and the Stanley Cup has stood for. I don't stand for this.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 "[i had] a battery package hidden in my pants," he said. "When I turned it on, the foot straightened in the skates. It was kind of funny." I don't know why that struck me as funny. Maybe we should hot-wire some of our guys. Yeah, if the Avs want him, good for all of them. Maybe we'll beat them if they get rid of a full-time player for Peter.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 I dont know. At this point, I don't really care about Forsberg as hes become a non-factor due to the teams he choses to play with, but I kind of admire him for not giving up. God knows the Wings could use a guy with this kind of drive in the lineup.

Red Crazy 201 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 Forsberg was an awesome player, and it does suck when an injury ends a great career but I think enough is enough. Maybe the Nucks will take him if they don't win the Sundin lottery!
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 (edited) Oh here we go. My thoughts exactly. Forsberg is NOT coming to Detroit; we already went through it last season when several people here were hopeful for him and he shot down the idea because it would feel wrong to play for the team that was his rival for so long. Wanna bet how long it'll be before Tampa offers him a deal? Edited December 17, 2008 by Hockeytown0001
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 I thought this s***bag wanted to play on his daddy's team in Sweden? He is making a mockery of the league and I sincerely hope that he comes back to the divealanche and then gets injured in some lawnmower incident just like Captain Horatio Snowblower did last week. pjgj13 30 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 I think there should be a rule that if you are not active on Dec 1st, you are ineligible to play. The only way you could play for that year is if you are on IR (Chelli). Last year we had Neidermayer and Selanne for the Ducks and now Sundin and now Forskin, I mean Forsberg. The only way you could play for that year is if you are on IR (Chelli). Pierre Lebrun said that they talked about that very idea at the winter meetings in Florida this year. They definitely need to enact something to stop all these d-bags from jumping into the fray at the last minute. Although, Mac joined us pretty late... no comparison to Forsberg, Selanne & Neidermayer, but there need to be some discussions about this.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 He's a non factor anyway, yes he puts up points, but one hard hit, or a wack to that ankle and he's done. I thought Niedermayer and Selanne were bad, at least they played a decent amount of games. Forsberg would probably play like 10-15. Another thing, why the Avs Pete? They probably wont make the playoffs, and thats why you want to come back... you cant put them over the top.

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 (edited) Oh for f%$# sake. Here we go with that s*** again... It really isn't all that hard to understand actually. Forseberg still has a desire to play and feels he has enough gas left in the tank. DISCLAIMER: Before people yell at me, no I am not suggesting the Wings get Forsberg. All I am saying is I agree with YoungGuns that I admire Forsberg for not giving up and probably listening to the masses saying he needs to hang up his skates. If he wants to make an attempt to comeback and he feels he can be effective somewhere, more power to him. Guest Shoreline Report post Posted December 17, 2008 I hope no team takes him. Let him play elsewhere rather than make a repeated jump onto a playoff team just for the glory part and not the grit.
NC WINGS FAN 5 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 Watch him go to Anaheim just to piss everyone off!!!! If he comes back just for the playoffs one more time, I hope that bastard gets popped in the first round!!! How can the league continue to allow this. He decides to retire and then decide to come back just for the playoffs, how convenient. The league should not stand for this any longer. If you are healthy and/or retire, you must wait until next season starts to return. Unless a player has been injured or moved up from the minors most of the year, it is understandable that he should play in the post season. If he is just like this jackass and decides to play hookie all season only to show for the playoffs, no. If none of the above apply, then you should around most of the regular season if you want to play in the post season. This is a joke!!
Barrie 900 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 I don't care where Forsberg signs, he would be a non-factor. He's no where near NHL game shape, and would injure himself again.

If he has such a desire to play, then he needs to try playing a full season instead of just hopping on the bandwagon he thinks will take him to the promise land. I mean how many times has the guy retired now? The regular season is no vacation. If he wants to win another championship, he must stick it out through the regular season. That's my take, for what ever it is worth.

The league should not stand for this any longer. Players and teams are only hurting themselves by doing this. Theres no way Forsberg and Sundin, sitting out most of the season will be a positive addition to a team late in a season. They aren't in game shape.

Theres no way Forsberg and Sundin, sitting out most of the season will be a positive addition to a team late in a season. They aren't in game shape. That is true. It is just still annoying to me when players pull this crap. Who do they think they are? Well, I will get off the soapbox now. I hear the Rangers are interested in Sundin for some reason beyond me. Have not followed much of him for years. Is he even a factor anymore? Toronto did not seem to think so. I also can't help but wonder who would want to sign Forseberg. It should be interesting.
