Since about 1/3 of the season is over, I think he'll make around 7 million. I heard it was only a one year deal though. The Canucks will likely win their weak division, which means more then likely they'll get the Wings in the second round (assuming they both win their opening series). Is it just me, or does the East look a lot tougher then the West this year?

Wellwood and Sundin have an excellent little history together and with Dimetra make a very solid first line. ANd more importantly, that puts the Sundeens back on the second line. Thats a legitimate top six, plus they still have over 2 million for a pro rated trade deadline acquisition. They are sitting pretty.

Interesting, they were talking about this at lunch on the radio something they said was the west always has upsets.

If Detroit and San Jose both were upset and were out of the playoffs then Van looks great. There are 3 BIG teams in the west though and 1 team in Chicago that will be reved up and Dangerous I think in the post season.

I guess Sundin wasnt ready for a Manhattan Lifestyle, if someone told me a year ago he would have signed there I would have never believed him. Wonder how many people in Toronto think Van owes them a draft pick now.

Wonder if Luongo will pass the C to Sundin?

Leading up to last season's trade deadline, the media was busy playing "will he / won't he", regarding his okaying a trade. He said he didn't want to go to another team and be a "part-season player". What ever money he will be paid this "season" bends his scruples this way: Playing from the trade deadline to season's end last season would have been wrong, but playing from just before Christmas to season's end this season is alright. People, we are not talking about Gordie Howe here!

I really hate it when a player sits out for almost hafl a season and then decides to sign. Its one thing if he was holding out to play for a team that might need to clear cap space, like Shanahan did. But when you have offers and you decide to sit on your but and think if you are going to take the 10 million dollar offer or the 5 million dollar offer.
