McD's signs NHL contract...

McDonalds is resuming it's NHL advertising starting w/ the Winter Classic. It also will be advertising at the all-star game and has been named by the NHL (US & Canada) as official restaurant. People attending the game in certain sections will recieve some sort of 5$ gift card during intermissions. McDonalds ads on nhl.com, nhl network, nbc, versus, etc.

That's an encouraging sign. Big businesses don't enter into agreements like that lightly. When Wal-Mart signs up to be the official grocer of the NHL, we'll know we made it.

Say what you will about McDonald's (I don't like the food much, either), but they are the best run fast food chain by far. They just do sh** right. They're faster getting you through the drive-through and don't f**k up your order nearly as often as the other chains do. Plus, they're the only ones you can always count on to have that garbage can with the long chute as you pass through the drive-through. You know, the one you can dump all the trash in your car into on your way out so you've got room to put your drinks in your cup-holders.
