Yzersyukstromberg 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 I agree...as much as I was glad to see him and his lazy approach to playing hockey leave Detroit, I would never wish such a painful and devastating injury on anyone. I hope he's able to make a recovery, even if not just for a return to hockey.

cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 From the "Gazette" article: When someone suggested that Kovalev seems to pick up his game when Saku Koivu is injured and Kovalev assumes the captain’s role, Carbonneau said: “I hope that’s not the truth. Because then we’re in trouble because I’m not taking the C off Saku. If somebody needs a letter to perform well on the ice, I have a tough time with that. Alex is a professional. He’s not a rookie. Right now, he’s struggling, but we need him if we hope to go far.” When asked what aspects of Kovalev’s performance were found lacking, Carbonneau said: “That’s between him and me.”
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 Holy crap, poor Langer. Didn't care much for his play as a Wing but the guy has always been a good hockey player. He was doing well for the Habs, too. What a s***ty way to go out...
Kira 451 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 Those throwback jerseys were terrible. I wasn't sure whether I was watching a hockey game or a prison chain gang circa 1930's. Hopefully Robert will be alright. That looked extremely painful.
