I hate to say it, but Nick Lidstrom has been standing in front of the net on a LOT of goals against this season. Whats that all about?

I've noticed it too. I don't know if its due to spotty goaltending or Lids having an off-year. Either way, its not what you wanna see.

He got pushed right as he was starting to break to the right (looked like he was going to drag the puck then shoot it). There's about a half of second of time between the push making full contact and the collision.. and it happened at just a moment to take his legs out from under him and send him on an uncontrollable path to the goalie.

If anything, that should have been a penalty shot.

He definitely could have avoided that collision. He was going too fast to be able to avoid the goalie, he was skidding the whole way there. But it happened and it cost us a goal.

Our PK'rs need to learn how to move bodies in front of our goalies and also need to learn to not let them be closer to the goalie than they are.

This is the big point, whenever a goal has been scored lately the screen is behind the defenceman and not even with them.

He could have avoided it by not driving it to the net (and thus not getting shoved into the goalie) and coughing up the puck at the blue line or something, but then he'd be the worthless piece of s*** a lot of people think he is.

It's just a bad call. Atleast the inconsistency is consistent with the officiating this year.

Is it just me or did that Leg break really slow Cheli down. He didn't look bad in the pre-season but ever since he got back he seems to be lacking that extra step that keeps him ahead or even with the play. He has been falling a lot more lately, and really for the first time as a Wing in my opinion looked unable to keep up with the play. I love him to pieces, but I think the career is almost over here.
