Damn thats funny ... i would pay good money to hear Bowman rip apart Ward like that .. Remember when Holmstrom changed his number to 96 and bowman said you should make it 97 cuz thats the last year youll skate in this league .. priceless s***

always LOVED Aaron! He is one of those "Old" Wings I would love to see come back and end his career "home." I would say it may be possible if the Bruins weren't so good, and he is a big part of that, so even as a UFA, I can see him re-signing there again. Why would you want to leave Boston? Besides, other than Cap space and a roster space, he would probably get only 5th or 6th on the depth chart here, and he is FAR better than that! Hmmmmm, I wonder how he a Lidstrom would play together? That would be cool! Oh well, love ya Aaron! (Btw, while here in Detroit, he lived around the corner from me (Woodhaven/Brownstown area) maybe that is why I am partial to him!) Good Luck Aaron! (unless we play you in the Finals, then "better luck next time!")

edit: Gotta love a Wolverine!

quick history on Aaron:

Drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1st round (5th overall) of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft.

June 11, 1993: Traded to Detroit by Winnipeg with Toronto's 4th round choice (previously acquired, Detroit selected John Jakopin) in 1993 Entry Draft for Paul Ysebaert and future considerations (Alan Kerr, June 18, 1993), June 11, 1993.

July 9, 2001: Traded to Carolina by Detroit for Carolina's 2nd round choice (Jiri Hudler) in 2002 Entry Draft, July 9, 2001.

so, for all you Hudler fans out there, you have Aaron Ward to thank for that! (kinda :brow: )

Aaron "pain train" Ward

Actually some great insight into the ******* Bowman could really be.

You're not kidding! Can't believe how tough he was on Ward, and a couple of others by the sounds of it. Don't know how you're expected to perform under that intense pressure.

 Now that is gold.

Good times we had when Ward and Lapointe were on the team. Two role players that I miss.

Well how ironic is that? The previous coach traded his scapegoat for the current coach's scapegoat.

Reading those Bowman stories I was like "wow, thats exactly how Babs treats Hudler"

I have searched the inter webs high and low to no avail for a quote by a former Wings player about Bowman something to the likes of "You hate him 364 days out of the year. On the 365th day you are lifting the cup."

Not sure who said it, but I always thought that sumed up Bowman and his coaching style pretty well.

Yeah I've heard that thrown around as well.

I'm almost 100% sure that a Montreal Canadian (from the 70s dynasty) originally said this. It might have been Bob Gainey.

Well, now I understand why he was so angry and vicious toward his old teammates in the 2002 finals. Letting out some frustration with Scotty. Must have been tough in the handshake line.

I'm pretty sure he was good friends with Malts, even though they had a nice tustle in game 3.

Loved having Aaron Ward on the team. Miss Fischer, too. Picture those two still playing for the Wings?

Boston won't be good past this year (it's just not in the cards for Eastern teams to be consistent) so in a few years Ward might find himself looking for a new home.
