Big Montreal Scandal...

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Alright on SportsRage satelite radio, Gabrieal Morency is saying in 5 and a half hours, news will break. He's speculating from what he's heard.. "According to Gaberial, Price will be implicated as having underage sex with teenagers, Markov being involved in a prositition ring and Kostitysn being involved in criminal activity. This is all up in the air right now and unverifed and could rock the rest of the league."

Gonna be interesting to see what unfolds in the morning.

I can't think of a worse situation for hockey if this is a steroid scandal. In a country where hockey struggles to keep up with football, basketball, and baseball, the one thing the NHL has had going for it has been its more or less clean image. It is beginning to sound like our boys in Montreal are taking care of that.

I guess not every team can follow the Red Wings act as the exemplars of class in sports.

To hear Canadiens talk about it "shaking the very roots of the franchise" it's gotta be more than steroids or cheating or whatever.

I don't want to start spreading rumors, but I'm betting it has to do with a LOT of drug use by many players, or some sort of underage prostitution (I don't think legal age would be as big a scandal as it's being made to seem) or whatever else.

Man, this could be bad for the NHL. But on the other hand I have trouble imagining anything as bad as they're making it sound. Maybe I'm too used to hearing about things from the NBA and NFL, though.

I find that extremely hard to believe.

More rumors from other boards.

"latest from insiders in the media (still just rumors at this point but we'll be fixed tomorrow):

- habs brass in meetings since 8pm tonight

- team meeting scheduled at midnight or whenever they arrive

- bettman en route for montreal

- police waiting for the players at the airport to arrest 3 (allegations rape & drugs)

- probable end of the career of the 3"

not sure who the "3" are. Price is one of them I'm pretty sure though.

Whatever it is, it isn't going to be good :(

Same here, I find it hard to believe players could do that. Your representing a league, an organization, you go out and get wasted and pull that? I hate all this speculation, I want to know whats going on!

Well, there goes their goalie of the future.

Man, as much as I love to hate Montreal as a rival, I did not want to see this happen to them.

Maybe Anaheim, like someone mentioned. I wouldn't even wish this on Colorado, though.

I'll bet this will be mild compared to some of the s*** that goes down in the NFL.

And they say there's no such thing as bad press...

We'll see I guess.

Hey, maybe they took after the Minnesota Vikings and went on a "love" cruise.

Seriously though, this isn't those photos of them partying. We've seen photos of Tootoo from the other night and of a few Calgary players doing the same, and there wasn't a word about it. If it's somthing enough to be described as shaking the foundations of the most storied team in hockey, Bettman's on his way, and everything else, then this is big.

I don't have TSN but is there a live video link or anything?

Now I'm hearing rape and heavy cocaine use, if this is nothing, Montreal media is MESSED UP.

After reading a little bit about this, the rape and or drugs angle is what I would guess it would involve

Me too. I can't imagine anything less severe "shaking the foundations" of the Canadiens. This isn't a PR issue. This is a serious criminal activity issue, my bet is.

From HFBoards:

Everyone settle down, the boys aren't being arrested. Don't you guys see what is really happening? Bettman is coming to Montreal to meet them, its all a plan by the Habs to give the NHL a gift: ARREST BETTMAN!

A thought popped in my brain about all this,....

Hockey comes second obviously but, what if Kovalev knew all this and that's why he's been in a funk all year. I wouldn't want to be a team with that going on either. Who wants to bet, he gets called back up, goes F#$king crazy and becomes a hero again.
