Ah, it's plays like that that make me glad to be a Wings fan.

Anaheim came out pretty strong - no surprise there. Just waiting for them to goon it up a little to make things interesting. They just can't resist.

Conklin looks pretty strong, but he's kissing that goalpost as we speak.

Wings are playing a good game, but not a great game. Seems they are kind of on cruise control until they need to step it up.

agreed. the Wings need to realize that they are fortunate to be up 2-1 and step up their play.

but wow did Zetty and Datsyuk make that goal look easy...

Does anyone else think Pronger's lost a step or two? He's still a *****, but doesn't seem as dominant anymore.

He's still a good defencemen, but he also isn't the player he was with Edmonton or his first year with Anaheim. It's not surprising the Ducks are thinking of moving him if they're still on the outside looking in for the playoffs in a couple weeks. He's on the downside of his career but still attractive to other teams as a veteran D-man.

He may even have lost a step in bitchness, too  He's seemed tamer this year.

Missed most of the period, but got home right in time for the Pavrik-combination. Beautiful stuff.

Hoping the Wings don't do the back-and-forth dance that we've seen so many times this season. Just step on the gas and destroy these guys.

I think he's -3 right now, which ain't so hot for him.

I never played hockey so I have a question. On the Ducks' goal, could or should Drapes have tried to block the shot from Getzlaf - even without his stick? I'm thinking if Lilja had been in position, he might have tried to do just that.

Can he? Yes. Should he? Depends on the situation, but in this case I say yes. If you leave your feet you take yourself out of the play, but since Drapes was missing his stick he would have 1.) forced Getzlaf to shoot high or 2.) forced Getzlaf to delay, maybe giving someone else a chance to disrupt his shot. But no guarantees that going down would prevent a goal--either way, you still have a dangerous player with the puck in a good shooting position.
