SweWings 45 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 Well not exactly surprising - this has been coming for a while now. The effects though will be interesting, not that they necessarily will be that visible on the surface...
chrisyo 1 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 He has potential but I would not want to pay him to act like a dickhead and create problems on and off the ice. Yet you have Probie in your avatar. I seriously think this is the best move of the deadline so far. Avery without a doubt impacts the Rags in a good way. Think this only guarantee a spot in the playoffs for them and as of right now they play Brodeur & the Devils. Hopefully there is a better move then this by 3 tomorrow. Carman 387 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 I like Avery, the guy just needs a good ass beating and he'll be fine. It's not like he is Steve Downie.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 Good luck Sean! Hopefully he proves he's still a decent hockey player, and not a douchebag.
Kevvie 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 I would love to see Avery wearing the red and white again. I think he's nothing but a s*** disturber and an antagonist, but who gives a rat's ass. I like the guy. He brings a lot of energy and spunk and he's a go-getter.
shadow47 1 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Good luck Sean! Hopefully he proves he's still a decent hockey player, and not a douchebag. Did you just use the word..."douchebag"? And Kevvie you used the word "spunk", both clearly with depraved sexual connotations detrimental to the bulletin board. You are both hereby suspended indefinitely. T.Low 1,011 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Anyone else waiting for a Dallas press release taunting the Rangers for going after their sloppy seconds?
cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 From a sports blog at dallasnews dot com. Most of the "Comments" are predictable. Bye, bye Sean. I'm going to sleep a little sounder tonight, knowing Avery is a Ranger; for now.
Grim 5 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Re-entry waivers are soo confusing. What will Avery's cap number be next season???
Grim 5 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 ok... from what I understood reading off tsn.ca, the Rangers are on the hook for half of Avery's $4M salary for the remaining 3 years of his contract. nhlnumbers.com still has a 1.552 cap number for Avery on the Stars. I wonder if they too must carry this cap number for the remainder of that contract. I thought Avery's cap number was off the books when he first cleared waivers?? if so, what in the world was their incentive to bring him back on re-entry waivers?? SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted March 4, 2009 Shouldn't be too surprising given he had his most success in New York. Hopefully whatever "issues" he has Torterella and company can help "clean up". Martin Brodeur is quietly weeping thinking...

Hopefully there is a better move then this by 3 tomorrow. True Probert had problems off the ice but what he did on the ice made up for it all. Avery's problems are poisonous to the health of the entire team and his distractions have the potential to ruin the bond in the dressing room. He's an annoying little lippy bastard that's good at agitating and scoring some goals but takes things to extreme's. If he picks up where he left off someone will knock the s*** out of him for sure, I'll put money on that.
