Bad defense in the 1st led to two cheap tip-in goals and the floodgates of hell opened up from there. It was an avalanche of suck. I won't lie, he was crap tonight but so was everyone else. I mean, just sluggish play and s***ty turnovers left and right.

Go figure.

It ain't Ozzie or Conk that's gonna kill this team in the playoffs if they don't shape up, it's the defense. Even worse when the team's lowest +/- is Z, Dats, Raffy, and Lidstrom. Ouch.

But why should we panic. This team did win the Cup last season after all. That means our play last year in the playoffs will immediately carry over into this year's playoffs, regardless of the regular season, right?

WTF has happened to our defense? Like, what happened from last year to this year? I just don't get it. Do we need Todd McLellan this much? Or is his replacement that bad?

It really does not help that the NHL is focused more on offense then D. I would not say our D is playing that bad, but it's all turnovers. Sloppy passes across ice not paying attention to players in that area that can steal it. Last year they had a really good transition game, this year they are having trouble getting the puck up the ice at times. If they limit their turnovers they can fix their problems.

Stupid salary cap ... it's ironic that a salary cap, nothing is more socialistic than that really, is the fundamental part of the NHL, located in the capitalistic country of USA.... but in the end i guess it's still about the money when more teams can reach the playoffs, more ticket sales, more interests from different markets...
