Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 The simple fact of life is, goaltenders need to be big to succeed these days. Osgood is a tiny man, and can no longer be effective anymore. He can no longer out think and out-maneuver. We need a big, fat, juicy goalie. Not some short, skinny old man. Sorry Osgood
ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 He also said the Wings are playing well. How can you be playing well when you're making things easy for Biron? I thought they put up a decent offense, early the D looked good but now is falling apart

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 This Biron guy sure like those SHUTOUTS......... Shut out? You mean, one of those games where the other team gets no goals? None? Unfortunately, it's looking pretty good for the Wings to hand him just that right now. But Biron is also right where he needs to be tonight, too.

Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 Sometimes we get beat by someone having an outstanding game. s*** happens, I'm not worried. A goal would be nice, though.
Xitium 272 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 How is that not interference? Sammy was pinned against the boards, and didn't have the puck. He was struggling to get free, and still no call. Wow.

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 I am wondering just how much the Wings miss Homer. Coincidence, the outcome of the last two games, with Homer? And now, tonight.... hmmm.
hmmthesharks 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 I thought they put up a decent offense, early the D looked good but now is falling apart They played well in the first period, thats about it. The Flyers D is very good. Haven't watched many Flyers games lately, but they have a great forecheck.
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 (edited) You know, usually I agree with the high-shot system the Wings employ, but sometimes you need to shift gears. Less shots, more quality scoring chances, please. Edited March 18, 2009 by Datsyerberger
McCartyFanForLife 17 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 It is very evident that Holmstrom is not playing; Biron is seeing everything
Wingsallwin 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 I real don't know what to say so far... we have outplayed against the Flyers but we are losing now because of only Biron..

BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 The Flyers D is very good. You'd think so watching this game, but the season stats suggest they're nothing special.
Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 If anything, this game is evidence of why we need Homer. So all those people bitching he's old, hurt and needs to retire.....you want more games like this? Then hope you get your wish.

Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 Jesus, Cleary is looking awful with the puck control tonight. On another note, remember how they stopped the game after Gretzky got that record point? Well, they stop the game every time Brodeur holds the puck!
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted March 18, 2009 Start with a goal, work up to a Hank hat trick, then celebrate with free Arbys and some Guinness.
seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted March 18, 2009 You know, usually I agree with the high-shot system the Wings employ, but sometimes you need to shift gears. Less shots, more quality scoring chances, please. You can usually tell how a Wings game is going to go pretty early on by how hard everyone's crashing/driving the net. Tonight they look content to try to snipe from 40 feet out. I bet in the 3rd we'll see plenty of shots with plenty of traffic. If they want to win, that is.
