The simple fact of life is, goaltenders need to be big to succeed these days. Osgood is a tiny man, and can no longer be effective anymore. He can no longer out think and out-maneuver. We need a big, fat, juicy goalie. Not some short, skinny old man. Sorry Osgood :(

LOL! ew.

That's why you've got to be able to trust your defense though. The D takes the pass away so Ozzie can face the shot. Again, it was a great shot, and I'm not even really faulting Ozzie for it, but I can see how people would.

True.

huh I personally don't think that last was Ozzy's fault. It's one of those shots that yeah if he saved would have been a big steal we were looking for but that's just what it would be a steal, the high shots are hurting him though

The problem is, the Wings had already given them several similar chances, which Ozzie stopped. When you give the opposing team so many great chances against your goalie, some are gonna get by.

Malkin has 85 to Pavs' 81. Takeaways are recorded by the home team, I believe, and some places are more liberal with the criteria than other places.

I think pretty much except for Pens fans would say that org. has such a hard on for itself that I'm suprised Crosby doesn't have over 250 already

Exactly right, which is why most sites that track stats do not include takeaways due to that ambiguity.

Philly has had 12, shots, Ozzy has let 2 in. I mean come on. His Save % isn't because of the D. Most goalies can stop 10 shots before they let 1 in. Ozzy isn't NHL material anymore. 95% of the goalies in the league have a Save% better then 0.900.
