Ill get shot for this, but maybe its time for Nick to look at taking a bit of a paycut to help this team.

This year its obvious his best days are behind him. We REALLY need to updgrade our D in the next two years. We cant be expected to consistanly score more than 3 goals per game to win, and on alot of nights 5.

What do you expect him to do until his contract is up? There is no doubt that he'll take a paycut in a couple seasons.

Guest Four
I have a list of names. If we win the Stanley Cup this year, I better not see them.

Don't get teary-eyed if you do.

PS. Ozzie sucks and he's lazy.

It's not the D's fault Ozzy lets the puck in the net. Rinne has had way harder saves to make. If you need perfect D to play infront of you to win, you shouldn't be a NHL goaltender.

I agree to an extent. Your goalie has to make some big saves. But your D has to help out (block shots, etc.)

Discuss it? Do you even see these boards after we're one goal down? It's as if the four horsemen of the apocalypse came down on them and it's raining hellfire. One damn goal as a lead and we may as well be the bottom of the league.

There's a difference between being completely oblivious about a teams chances, and having faith in your team to get back a lead or tie it.

How do you feel about our chances in this one?

I am usually not pessimistic, but if the wings continue playing like this forget the stanley cup, they probably won't make it out of the first round. They have the talent, but it just doesn't click.

Wings are playing fine. It's Osgood that lost this game.

I thought it was possible to re negotiate, or did the nhl squash that?

What about signing a two year extension for little money to offset his collossel cap hit?

Ya I hear you, but you gotta realize that a lot of that fallout is due to the fact this is not really an isolated incident, at least this year to say the least. I mean it gets to a point (Ozzie's consistent below then avg. play, blowouts, getting shut out by the worst team in the league, defensive lapses that are horrible to say the least, etc)

I agree with you on a lot of your points, but I don't think you can make a statement like this without realizing why the fallout happens the way it does.

Osgood sucks. 100% his fault. 22 shots, 4 go in. Any other goalie could've done better then that.

Those are the facts boys. Osgood is terrible. It's not the D. It's not the forwards. It's Osgood and his terrible play. He has not improved, you all know it. And all you Osgood supporters should shut up about the D hanging him out to dry.

This is what laid back, mediocre play gets you.

Weak

Forwards and D played just fine. Can't score 5 goals every night. This is what bad GOALTENDING gets you.
