Pretty sick that I'm not surprised by these ******* collapses anymore.

They weren't lazy tonight. The Preds were playing for their season, and Babcock wasted all kinds of opportunities.

1. Kronwall and Stuart were together. THIS HASNT WORKED ALL SEASON.

2. Filppula was bumped up to be Datsyuk's wing man, despite the fact that he can't finish.

3. Hudler had a great game and was banished to the 3rd line to be stuck with Samuelsson.

4. Samuelsson was on the PP despite the fact that hes ice cold and does nothing.

5. He picked Cleary over Franzen in the shootout, despite the fact that Cleary is ice cold, and Mule is red hot.

This loss is on Babcock.

We had the game until the third period where we lose it EVERY game we seem to lose. No excuses. We can't hold on to a lead and it showed.

Babcock just didn't help.

I would think Drapes would have more luck.

I think we should all be grateful that the Wings don't have to fight like Nashville to get into the playoffs. I mean really, would you want that stress?

Ok I rarely advocate Wings checking out other fan forums but the Blues fans reaction to this (since they're now in 9th place) is actually rather priceless.

Just one example:

What are you talking about? Since when have Wings fans ever thought of the first round as a free pass.

At any rate, we'll be motivated to play a team like Nashville. Who knows? For all intents and purposes, maybe the Wings thought Nashville would be a better team for San Jose to face than St. Louis.

This wouldnt be the first time Detroit blew a game against Nashville to affect the playoff standings.

You hit the nail on the head. I don't understand why he keeps Kronwall and Stuart together. They are pathetic together. And yes, why Cleary and not Franzen. Hudler would have been better up on the top line. Yes, Babs blew this one for sure.

Yeah, when I saw Cleary out there, I wondered what the hell he was doing.

Sloppy D, as usual. Even Lids made a retarded play (the bad pass) to let Nashville score one. Oh, and Osgood always found a way to leave a huge gaping hole in the net...how many times does he have to be burned being off to the side before he figures out not to do that????

Mule, Flip, even Drapes would have been a better choice.

This was the reality of things before tonights game.

At any rate, I'm excited to play Anaheim. I expect we'll come after them with revenge in the same way we came after Calgary in 07 after losing them in 06. We've gotten booted by Anaheim 2x in the last 5 seasons. The Wings will be motivated. Thats all we really need.

I can only assume Babcock put Cleary out there to try to break him out of his slump. I would have put Franzen out, but the game meant nothing to the Wings.

Gotta give the Preds some credit here. I hope they don't make the playoffs though, they are boring as hell to watch.

Well the good thing is Ozzy played very well.

We also ended up resting some players, so im not really surprised we lost.

Honestly, The preds played very well. They hit 3 or 4 posts too.

The thing that worries me...is that we have blown quite a few leads in the 3rd this season.

To be honest, I'm more pissed that Datsyuk didn't get any points in tonight's game.

And really, I don't understand the logic of Homer and Filppula on Datsyuk's line. Theres no guy that can finish off Datsyuk's passes on that line. Homer and Flip can set up, and Homer can get some nasty deflections, but no one's gonna finish off a sick datsyukian deke.
