I feel ya. I was hoping for a Wednesday start. TSN says they have game one on Thursday, but the schedules haven't even been posted on NHL.com yet.

Awesome! Wings on Thursday! Right after my calculus exam!

If Ozzy plays like he did last playoffs, then Wings in 4!

This was my second choice of a first round opponent (Blues were first). If the Wings can't win this series, they would have lost to any other team as well. It has the makings of a perfect first round matchup; minimal travel and very little physical wear and tear. The Jackets are solid defensively and Mason is a good goaltender, but it all boils down to how hard the Wings work. If they play to their potential, they'll handle the Jackets pretty easily. If not, they'll lose this series. I'm hoping for the former.

I have to say, the matchups league wide are just fantastic. So many good matchups and rivalries in round one, can't wait for the games to begin!

I'm going with the wings in 5. Mason steals 1 but thats it.

Way cool!

I was leaning towards the Wings smashing the Ducks, but I am just as happy to watch the Wings destroy the Jackets!

Go wings!

f*** this Wings in 6 business. Usually I'm apprehensive about first round opponents, but I'm feeling uncharacteristically good about this set up. Wings in 5.

I thank god that we got our asses whooped by them 8-whatever this season. Thats one of those regular season losses that you can't forget. The Wings will have that in mind come Thursday.

Let's consider what a bandwagoner is. A bandwagoner jumps off the bandwagon and pessimistically declares the team's season over at a certain point, that point obviously not being a championship. The bandwagoner then, with Memento-like short term memory syndrome, suddenly jumps back on when the team pretending nothing happened when the team exceeds their horribly pessimistic views.

IDK, I think anyone who cares enough goes through the emotional swings of being a fan, and sometimes that involves saying stupid things that you wish you could take back. It's a big reason why I never post during games--that way I only have to explain myself to my gf, and not to all of you fine people. I'm not going to call someone less of a fan for being pessimistic--as long as they keep showing up, keep caring, and root for the Wings above all else (including the urge to be right) they're true fans.

"Bandwagon" to me means you stop caring when the team isn't doing well or you jump from team to team depending on who's good.

I feel more comfortable playing them than the Ducks. Especially seeing as how their record in the past 10 games looks similar to ours, so they haven't been too hot. But they definitely can't be taken lightly.

This.

Wings in 5.

Columbus has to score to be able to win, and Nash isn't going to see a wink of the open ice that he did during the regular season series. A constant matchup with him on the ice with Lidstrom and Datsyuk or Zetterberg keeping an eye on him will wear him down.

Mason is definitely going to be a challenge, but the fact the Columbus special teams are abysmal + the anemic offense and that's a lot to overcome.

Defensively, I'd like for Babs to reunite Pav and Z with Nick and Rafi on the back end. Give Nash the Crosby/Ribeiro treatment. The offense will take care of itself.

I'll bet you get just that. Nash is going to have a shadow.

actually the WHOLE series is on TSN2.. f*** ME, i only get TSN (rogers in Toronto). son of a ***** im so ******* pissed!! TSN opting to go with the Calgary/Chicago series instead.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=11662 (TSN 2 schedule)

What is TSN2? is that an internet broadcasting or what? Never even heard of TSN....

Last year the playoffs was televised on VS. I suspect it'll be the same this year? I subscribe to charter basic just so I could watch all the NHL games. Please tell me that I didn't waste my money...
