I'm anxious for this series to get underway. I want to see how the Wings react. They need to play a lot smarter and a lot harder than they have. I believe this will be their toughest test. Always is for the top teams with those lower teams playing so hard the last month of the season.

IMHO- We need to take the first two games at home to win this series, PERIOD.

Wings win 3-0.

Ozzie shuts everyone up buy making 25 saves and starting the playoffs with a shutout.

Goals from (Hossa x2, Datsyuk)

GO WINGS!!!

Did you really have to say THAT word?

Per MLive -

"Update from Thursday's morning skate: Wings forward Dan Cleary confirmed that he will play tonight, saying he feels much better after staying off the ice on Wednesday. He said he is able to do all the things he normally does after sustaining what the team said is a lower-body injury on a hit from Niklas Kronwall during Tuesday's practice.

Cleary will play on a line with Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzen."

IMHO, I disagree. Even if they split, I can't see the BJ's taking both games in Columbus. Given that, the Wings would likely win game 5 to put the BJ's on the brink.

Now that being said, the Wings have no excuse for not winning this series. If they play as hard and with the intensity they did last spring, their talent level is far too much for Columbus to hang with. If the Wings outwork the BJ's, I expect a quick 5 game series. If the BJ's outwork the Wings, the series may go quite long.

Translation: Kronwall hurt Cleary's arm. :P I love playoff injury reports.

This game will likely tell us alot about what to expect in the coming weeks.

It's gorgeous outside, definitely feels like the playoffs. I wore my Wings' jersey to school today and ripped an exam, so hopefully that's a sign of things to come!

I took one for the team. My 3-year-old accidentally closed our sliding door on me while I was calling my dog, and now I have a huge goose egg next to my eye and the beginning of a black eye. Sitting here with an ice pack! The Columbus fans won't mess with me at the game tonight!!

Im not superstitious. Dont worry, Ozzie will prevail still lol.

While I could point out your sig contradicts you... I will take the high road and tell you that you never say shutout or no hitter, perfect game, etc in sports, whether youre superstitious or not, a lot of people are.

Finally! This series is simple: if the Wings play hard, they will win. Columbus has a great young goalie and enough talent and grit up front to make it interesting. But if the Wings outwork them, and if Homer, Mule, and Cleary are doing their thing in front of Mason, they will win.

Let's Go Red Wings!

This is a call to arms, fellow fans. We are the mighty Red Wings, and for one year, we have feasted from Lord Stanley's Cup. But now is NOT the time to grow complaisant!! The time has come to defend our holy grail!! Wake up!! There are those out there that seek to take what is rightfully ours, and what WILL rightfully become ours once again. Gentlemen, start your beards. Ladies do what you can. If you dare, even grow out your leg hair (haha, or just go to the bracelet thread). Now is not the time to tarry and forget what this is all about. If you have the extreme pleasure of attending a game, go up and beyond what you are used to. If the people next to you are loud, strive to be louder and tell them to do the same. If your heart aches to start our legendary cheer, do so, doi it loudly and do it often. With our powers together, it will take an entire army to pry this silvery cup of beauty from our arms.

LETS GO RED WINGS!!!

I haven't worn my wings jersey since December 10th, because of a mustard stain lol.

But i washed it.. and thank god the mustard stain came out.. just in time for playoffs

LETS GO VAL, I bought your jersey so i wouldn't be a carbon copy of everyone else with there Z,Dats,Lids jerseys.. Dont let me down baby.

It's kind of funny that i bought Val's jersey.. Considering he is the total opposite of what i want in a hockey player.. THE SOFTEST red wing by far.. and i bought his jersey .. lul.

Saturday I will be there. The chants will be loud, the cheers louder, and the Jackets silenced.
