I still think a sucky Cleary is better than Maltby/Koko. Throw Leino in for anyone of those two if we lose a game during these playoffs.

If Detroit can continue playing this way and close out the series early, it will be a big advantage for them later in the playoffs. It's such a battle for so long...I don't buy the rusty theory, with as grueling as the playoffs are, each day of rest is a blessing. Things need to fall into place to make a run at the Cup, no matter how good the team is, and things are working out well so far for you guys.

Blue Jackets have been really good in the 1st period of all 3 games, but Ozzie has been more than up for the task.

Now the question is if the Blue Jackets will be able to keep playing like they've done so far in this game, or if that 2-0 goal was too demoralizing and we'll see the Wings take over like they did in game 1 and 2.

We haven't generated much sustained offensive pressure, jackets are clearly energized by the crowd, but Ozzie has been fantastic.

Thanks for the update. Good to hear Ozzy is still playing awesome. Hopefully we can get more pressure in the 2nd.

Yeah, when Datsyuk went into the zone just before the Cleary goal. I was very surprised they didn't call that. Datsyuk had the wheels going and two Jackets held him up.

and if you look at the CBJ forum on HFBoards, they wanted Datsyuk called for the hold on that play.

The Wings are just built for the playoffs,unfortunately the regular season I think bores them.But then again this is Columbus guys.The REAL test could be next.

This IS the real test. Look what happens when you take an opponent lightly i.e. Caps/SJ. The fact the Wings in all three games so far have come out and dominated, that is a clear sign that we are not messing around these playoffs. So far, A+ on the test.

I woudln't say that Cleary has "sucked." He's certainly been missing a little something, though. You'd think his linemates would sort of elevate him, but that hasn't really happened. I think all of his little injuries have been tough to deal with.

That being said, he's kind of locked into playing where he does with the way the third line has been performing.

I think being "rusty" only affects you for the first period or so of the following game. So yeah I agree.

Wings need to do something here. The momentum is starting to stray a little towards the Jackets. Don't give them any life and someone needs to tell those Jacket fans to stop beating on the glass. It's really annoying to hear every 30 seconds.

I think McCreary told Nash, in the first couple of minutes, that scrums after the whistle were not going to be tolerated. I saw him pull Nash aside and say something to him after Rafalski stopped his shot attempt in the crease.

I saw it too. And he was trying to start something around our net. NOT good thinking, methinks...
