mjlee 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 Don't know if anyone has read this, but pretty interesting that Babcock has been lobbying hard to bring Ericsson up for the past two years. Funny comment by Kenny Holland about coaches 'always wanting a new toy.' I guess we all know now who really makes the decisions in the Red Wing organization http://www.usatoday.com/sports/hockey/nhl/...-ericsson_N.htm
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 Yeah, I remember him always mentioning Ericsson for the past couple years, saying he would be up if it was his decision, or he belonged to any other nhl team.

bellarina 1 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 Is it not great that another player just wants to be a Red Wing. I wish I could play for the Wings.

Interesting. esteef Well, yes, but also skill with the puck and the ability to make a safe first pass. It's as if Big E is good enough for both worlds. ManLuv4Clears 7 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 Hmmm, Babcock wanting size and toughness on the team two years ago. Interesting. esteef I think we would all be suprised how little influence Babs has on the decisions on what players to bring up and down from GR. Babs has had comments in the Free Press in the past that would lead one to believe Holland makes those calls and Babs plays with the tools he's been given. Dabura 12,207 Report post Posted April 23, 2009 I think it's pretty well understood that Babs has wanted to get him into the lineup for a little while now. The problem was the logjam. Thankfully, that seems to have been more or less sorted out.

T.OWingsFan 7 Report post Posted April 24, 2009 Great playoffs so far, but has showed his inexperience at times, especially tonight. Another season or two and he'll be a stud.

betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted April 24, 2009 Definitely looking forward to a solid 10 or 12 years of Ericsson manning the blue line. The kid's got what it takes for sure.
