WCSF GAME 2 GDT: Ducks 4 at Red Wings 3 (3OT)

Holy hell has Filppula been great this game or what? Especially during the 3rd and the first OT period. And Helm is incredible, too bad he has absolutely no scoring touch whatsoever. I say put him up with Hossa and Pavel to get them going.

Awesome OT but my nerves can't handle this much longer.

Wings need to score!

Still say Hossa with the GWG.

the point is that the Wings should not lose the concentration. Overtime is all about effort and how much you throw your body around with focusing on the chasing puck and keeping the puck. Helm has been incredible today

I wish Hossa and the other big guns would shoot more. They're being a bit too cute and going for those cross ice passes in front of the offensive net. The ducks are collapsing nicely and stopping that. They need to go right to the net and shoot it, then cram the net. Who cares if it's a garbage goal. SHOOT IT.

2OTs. My ******* nerves.

(And I think Matt would condone a little cursing here right now. :P)

This just seems like one of those games where... I don't know how to explain it...

Well, I try to look at this as all good.

Either they're going to win it, which is always, ALWAYS good.

Or, with the way they played the 4rd and OT in which they sustained some real pressure and really put their hearts on the line, only to lose just because of one goal, it can be one of those defining adversity games. The kind of games in which they learn that the efforts they gave in 1st and 2nd just aren't good enough, which can be inspiring enough for them to really bring it the next game. That's also good...

...But not quite as good as the win itself. Everyone in this forum would take the win no matter what. It's just that after a game like today's, it's not hard to find a silver lining.

Getzlaf's TOI is 30:33... That's a lot of work for a big body who went over 27 minutes less than 48 hours ago.

My work is awesome! I was supposed to be in at 5 but they're letting me stay home to watch the game until it's over!

Loving Helm in this game.

Let's win this one early in the 2nd OT please. My heart can't take it!

Wow, that's pretty sweet.
