WCSF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Ducks 2

BAD NEWS for all living OUTSIDE the Detroit TV area...

I live near the Cincinnati area, I have Direct TV, I subscribe to the Center Ice Package and the Sports Channels but here is the REAL BULLs***--Versus is carrying a doubleheader playoff tonight, the 1st game Chicago-Vancouver starting at 8PM EST, then the Wings-Ducks at 10:30PM EST, I noticed Fox Sports Detroit is carrying the game but Center Ice is NOT carrying the game! what this means is I and everyone else outside of the Detroit TV area will be BLACKED OUT of the Fox Dertrot broadcast and will be forced to watch Versus. Now the real problem-- if the Chicago-Vancouver game goes OT or heaven forbid triple OT, EVERYONE ouside of Detroit will miss the Wings game because of the blackout BS!!

I am paying for Center Ice $150, the extra Sports Channels $12 per month extra but will be BLACKED OUT of a game on the Detroit Channel even if the Versus 1st game goes OT and that might happen tonight---This is COMPLETE BS by the NHL to let Versus carry exclusive DOUBLEHEADER rights in playoff games!! when they dam well know lots of NHL games go OT!! I am tired of the NHL Mindless Talking Heads screwing us fans who PAY FOR THESE GAMES!!

I'm a little worried about tonite. Hiller is hot and the Ducks so far have stayed out of the box. I think the one obvious is that the Wings just aren't shooting good right now. Most of the shots were right at Hiller and pretty easy to save. However one thing I'll admit is the Anaheim Ducks absolutely slow the game down to All-Star game speed. I cannot stand watching that slllllllllloooooooowwww hockey they play. They need to play like the Stars

Pretty excited for tonights game, although not too excited about the start time. I'm gonna try my best to stay up and watch the whole thing. Even if I will hate myself tomorrow morning in class as I struggle to stay awake. It's Wing's playoff hockey- it's all worth it.

Anyways, hope the final score goes in the Wing's favor tonight. I hope to see lots of 's from the Wings. Almost 3 hours away!

I'm still not convinced Hiller is the star that everyone has been saying he is. The Ducks' defense does an excellent job at keeping shots to the perimeter, and hopping on top of rebounds. All they're asking of Hiller is much the same that the Wings ask of Ozzy: stop the first shot, we'll take care of the rest. This is the type of series that Homer, Franzen, Cleary, and Kopecky can determine the outcome of, based on how bad they want the rebounds and the ice in front of Hiller.

You're scaring the pee out of me here. We have all of the above too. I went online to Directv and checked on what's on in our area (our zip code's already in there) and I checked to see whether Fox Detroit (sports package) will be carrying the game at that time in our zip code. And it's listed. And it better well damned be on that channel, whatever the f--- is happening on Versus. THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE AN EXCLUSIVE GAME FOR VERSUS. That was mentioned in ALL the game schedules that came out. Part of the problem is, Directv does not know what the hell is going on most of the time. They emailed me back about this same crap earlier and said they didn't think the Wings would be on Center Ice during this series.

Jeezusss...don't you think SOMEbody might want to be in charge of knowing what's what in their sports scheduling??!!

I swear to god I'll hunt somebody down and take 'em out if it doesn't happen.

I just talked directly to a person at Directv and not only is he a Red Wings' fan, he says that THEY list the game being shown in our area on not only channel 663 (Fox Detroit) but also on 694 (SoCal). And if you love the Anaheim announcers that's the one for you. :puke:

Lazer - your post was confusing because Center Ice and the sports package don't always show the same stuff and even if you can't get it on Center Ice, that doesn't mean you won't get it on Fox Detroit. So if YOU get it, you should be able to get the game.

Pretty much everything is correct. I am not going to bash anyone who can screen Hiller but whatever.. the Wings have to step up. I agree with you that Hiller has been somewhat beatable but the Wings played sloppy hockey offensively by the 1st line.

The key to win tonight's game is that how much Datsyuk and Hossa can perform. This is the time that any team's difference maker comes up and change the momentum. If they do not perform enough well, I am going to be really upset this time.
