WCSF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Ducks 2

The Ducks have been better in every 1st period, and the Wings better in every 3rd.

The 2nd period has been up for grabs, and the Wings really, really need to grab it now.

I think Babs should seriously consider ZDH, FFH. Pasha and Hossa are not working.

Good point, but for the love of god GET IT GOING... and sooner than usual!

People who say we are being outhit do not watch this game with the perfect sight. We have been outhitting the f***s every game. However, I think it is Babcock's fault to make a focused point on physical play, not winning the game. We should expect better 2nd and 3rd periods; 4th line has not been a problem. Instead of 1st line in game 2, 2nd line today has been a junk

Get off it. This team is just flat-out sleepwalking. It's nothing to do with physical intimidation or domination.

Sure, spin the story any way you want it.

They're sleepwalking because they look intimidated. I want to see this team come out and take it to the Ducks physically the rest of this game before I change my mind on this.

When most of our forwards aren't crashing the net, it looks like a result of intimidation and a lack of physicality.

It's just amazing how little real output Hossa gets out of his incredible speed and stickhandling. Seeing him blitz down the zone one thinks "wow, how could anyone stop him now!?", yet most of the time he fails to capitalize. It's such a shame.

Ducks should be proud of their team, Detroit didn't come to play and their team did. Chelios should just hang them up... he's DONE! So far, by my count, he's cost us 2 goals in the last 2 games--that's HUGE in a 1goal loss.

I'm embarrassed by this team for the first 20 minutes.

On a positive not, at least Osgood come to play... and Dats has been physical.

My sentiments exactly. What a disgraceful period of hockey. :ranting:

this is, by far, the worst period of playoff hockey i have seen in a while. its embarrassing watching them get stripped of the puck, denied entrance to the O Z, and to cap it off, a soft goal by ozzie. also the officiating is a disgusting new low.

I wonder if Pronger is injured as I can't imagine not getting your legs back after such a long game for a whole period.

I liked Zetterberg's energy, Helm looked good as did Stuart and Kronwall.

They're only down a goal, it's a one shot game. No need for panic. The Wings are still rolling 4 lines while the Ducks are prety much still only playing 3. Little by little, bit by bit the Ducks will wear down.

The Wings would do well to corral the outlet passes, they'd have 3 or 4 odd man rushes if they'd stop worrying about a hit that may or may not be coming...

I think line changes might be in order just to give the team a spark. Not necessarily a panic move, more of a "wake the f up" move.

And Raffi, you must be damn hurt. I don't know what hurts more for you, the injury or watching this.

All this pessimistic venting said, still 2 periods to go. Just wish we'd have seen 60 minutes.

The Wings didn't get to where they are by making panicky changes after one game.

In the playoffs you only get a few games to fix it, or else you're eliminated.

This is where coaching has to take over and right now Babcock isn't doing a good enough job of it.

The line changes need to be made now. These combos aren't working.

I'm really concerned about the Red Wings. They aren't generating much of anything at all. They aren't going to the net hard and getting traffic.

It looks like the Ducks are methodically blanketing them. We've seen this in the past, where the opponent gets into one of those grooves, and smothers Detroit. The Wings don't really look like they are firing on all cylinders at all. They're not skating fast like they were in previous games or anything.

And the refs suck again. How do you let the blatent stuff go but call retarded, chincy stuff?

Can't complain about the officiating when you get the same amount of power plays as the other team.

Of course its nice to see the Ducks continue to fool everybody, most notably the zebras by instigating all of the extracurricular stuff. I tell ya what, whoever thought up that strategy is a ******* genius. Simply attempt to get away with as much after the whistle s*** as possible because the refs can't possibly call you for everything. It's a ******* brilliant and now apparently Standard Operating Procedure. The Ducks have got it down to a science.

If we lose this game, it will be a serious trouble. We have not scored for a long time and 5 more periods to fix the problem. If we do not fix it, we will be f***ed up by the f***s again.

Its been more then one game. The lines have not been working all series.

I can't believe babcock didn't make a change for Chelios. That boggles my mind. What a waste of a roster spot.
