mtuhockey7 23 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 Mac has been recalled for game 6 in Anaheim since the game has the possibility of getting chippy toward the end. I wonder if that means Abdelkader is sitting now or who will sit? http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/recap?gameId=290510005

I wonder if that means Abdelkader is sitting now or who will sit? http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/recap?gameId=290510005 He didn't get called up FOR game 6, he was just merely called up. He won't be playing.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 That's good to hear. He deserves to be part of this, dunno if he actually gets in the game though, maybe, the Ducks might start s*** up, they didnt go down quietly against Dallas last year. (Well half true, they were chippy, but got totally outmatched and embarrased because they sucked )

T.Low 1,011 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 Is he in shape? Is he skating better than he was last year? He skates like Yzerman trying skate on one leg in the '02 playoffs.
Guest Four Report post Posted May 11, 2009 If we are winning game six with 5 minutes to go, the Ducks will goon it up. I think it would be safe to carry an enforcer, but as well, we could always play without. Either way is good for me.

Did you see the last 4 minutes of todays game? Brookbank, Brown, and Carter were on the ice the whole time and tried to start something. It depends on the circumstances in Game 6, but if we're up by 2 or more, the Ducks will go for blood and not goals. It's their style, they did it to Minnesota in a series they won, they did it to us, Ottawa, and then Dallas last eyar where they lost. I mean, it being Anaheim is a valid point here. XxGoWingsxX 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 Mac's probably got more in the tank than Getzlaf at this point LOL Getzy has looked pooped out there for sure. I think carlyle's eagerness to give him ice time EARLY in the series killed it for him. Should have spread it out and weatherd any storm THEN if we were in a even series let him take more time....He just tired him out early I think. It just shows the ducks lack of depth though. Their first line is tiring out and now our top lines can play more loosely and play their own game instead of sitting back defending their top line. On another note what about datsyuk's flip move over the net lol...classic dangle dangle datsyuk
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 He'd be outskated AND, more likely than not, outpunched. I don't want either. Certainly not both.

They showed a long shot of Getzlaf going to the bench and Carlyle promptly telling him, basically, to get his ass back out there. He looked ridiculously tired, sick, and unhappy. PenaltyShot 96 521 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 Wasn't Downey already called up? If we're going to put a body on the roster for the sole purpose of goon patrol, I think Downey would stack up better against the Ducks.
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 Doesn't a player qualify to have his name on the Cup if they play part of a playoff game? Or does it have to be the Finals? Maybe they are doing this to get him another Cup, so they'll throw him in for five minutes to qualify him? I dunno. I love Mac (and Downey), and would like to see them get a chance to contribute, or at least participate.
Vincanni 1 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 Love D-Mac and all he's done for this city, but Aaron Downey is a superior enforcer. Besides Ducks aren't going to goon it up if they're down in goals, they'll either be too busy trying to save their season by scoring, or if its hopeless what's the point of sending messages if its their last game? Is the winner of Chicago/Vancouver going to pay them for trying to injure our players, when the better we do, the better they end up looking when all is said and done? puckbags 863 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 We have won the last two games..Abdelkader didn't look out of place at ll out there today and we are gonna put D-mac in for game 6?. I love D-mac and all but to think he's even going to take the pre game skate is silly !!

Don't worry, if we have the lead with a couple minutes left we'll just throw Kopecky in there, he likes to act like a ragdoll out there, wait a second..... NGKEIB 32 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2009/05/re...ren_mccart.html What do you make of this? Are Kenny and Mike worried that the Ducks will get very nasty the next game? It wouldn't surprise me, but I'm not sure if I want to see McCarty play, as much as I love the guy. Abdelkader was fine, though a bit lost at times, and he can sure skate (and therefore get in position to throw a big hit) a lot better than D-Mac. Also, if D-Mac was to play, it would give us a problem at centre. I don't see Abdelkader sitting unless Draper comes back... In any case, I haven't seen McCarty play all season, as I haven't watched any Griffins games, so if anyone has I would appreciate their opinions on how he's playing.
