AtomicPunk 296 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 #43, young one. I must have forgotten about Helm's amazing scoring touch. How many NHL goals does he have, exactly? Answer: ZERO. Another brilliant observation by you. Get to bed, sleep it off.
Kwame_Kilpatrick 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 I agree last post is very accurate pavel is trying very hard but it seems like nobody on our team can figure out what he will do so they r confused.
Jake Ryan 1 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 dats should take a long look at zetterberg, franzen, or getzlaf for that matter. these guys are monsters in the playoffs. datsyuk has been a mouse. it was his reputation early in his career. he's come through somewhat the last few years, but now he's under-performing worse than ever. great players come through when their team needs them. datsyuk hasn't done that once these playoffs. it's ridiculous. Go to NHL.com, hit "player search", type in Holmstrom, click on Tomas Holmstrom, and view Ninety-SUX's stats for the series. This guy is the POISON Datsyuk is dealing with. Coach won't separate Ninety-SUX from Pavel, so get used to this. Problem is it rubs off on Zetterberg, too. Double Whammy for the Wings. Big time bonus for the Quack Attack. Anyone that Holmstrom plays with will do worse 5 on 5 than what they would do if they didn't play with him. That's where Ninety-SUX is at in his career. I like Homer, and he serves a role on the PP, but he's absolutely KILLING us right now. Babs can't see it so far.
under_par_00 45 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 I remember seeing a Datsyuk - Zetterberg - Sammy in the 3rd period of this game.
KrazyGangsta 79 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 I remember seeing a Datsyuk - Zetterberg - Sammy in the 3rd period of this game. Ya me too right until Sammy took a penatly for interference when we actually had possesion of the puck. Sammy's not any better so I wouldn't want to see him paired with those 2, but I'd love to see Huds in there.

Phazon 24 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 (edited) face the fact, youre calling out holmstrom, but it is only fair to call out everyones darling datsyuk. He is the hart canditdate and has done jack. Fancy dangling dont do anything vs the ducks. He better produce next game Meanwhile, the other hart candidates malkin and ovechkin have 16 and 20 points. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 Sadly, I agree. If he only winds up with 1 assist in the series, then he did choke. Even Joe Thornton played better than this against the Ducks, yet all of us here were making fun of him. Look how well superstars like Crosby, Malkin and Oveckin have played in these playoffs, and then look at Datsyuk. Now you know why those guys are put on a higher pedestal than him. kylee 727 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 LOVE the guy but its true. hes just trying to dangle a bit too much..
Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 Yeah, too bad, something's wrong. He sucked in last few games of the RS too.
skacore 2 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 he flat out dominated the entire 3rd period, where's his finishers at, Hossa? Holmstrom? he's not the only one to blame, he played incredible in the 3rd tonight

And how is Datsyuk's performance this series compare to the monumental choke job Malkin had against the Wings in the FINALS? Surely one bad playoffs (in progress) is the defining characteristic of a player's career.
mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 I see your point, but don't really agree. He is dangling a lot, but he has had some great chances and not just catching the breaks. He's also working his tail off out there. Hopefully it all comes together for game 7!!
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 By the way- Datsyuk is clearly injured. Watch him out there- he can't shoot properly. He dangles then passes, even when he has a great shot in front of him.

clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 Well he's certainly not the best forward on the Wings right now which was what he was for the whole season.

Surely one bad playoffs (in progress) is the defining characteristic of a player's career. Datsyuk has had more bad playoff performances than good ones. Also, I hate to say it, but it's been a while since Lidstrom has had a great offensive game. He needs to do a better job of getting pucks through on his shots. Too many are being blocked right now. Really, many players are underachieving, but Datsyuk has been the worst.
Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 he played incredible in the 3rd tonight No he didn't. I love datsyuk, I completely do. But his play is so disappointing.
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 Doubtful. Datsyuk has been playing like crap for quite some time. Good point- injuries all heal within one week. Surely one can't be injured for an extended period of time.

He dangles then passes, even when he has a great shot in front of him. He is not injured. He is simply being marginalized by a bigger, and more physical team. If we get passed the ducks, no other team in this playoffs will be able to stop us.
GoalieManPat 1,007 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 A non scoring Datsyuk is better than Holmstrom, Cleary, and Sammy right now. The guy is the best defensive forward in the game and is still creating chances the puck just isnt going in. Far from a choker
