PANIC!

Only a 1-game series now? Who would've thunk that? *shrugs*

It would've taken the Red Wings or the Ducks just completely stinking up the joint for this not to be a 6 or 7 game series.

i was at least expecting a better effort last night. thats why i am in so much panic. if they dominated all of last night and lost, i would have felt better. but if they play like this Thursday, we will be golfing the next day

Do or Die. Its that simple. I don't panic because I have faith. I believe our boys can beat these goons. This is not a time to get down on your team.

I hope the Joe is rockin' tomorrow night! We need to come out strong and fast in the first and get few quick ones. The place would explode :yahoo:

Panicked; no, realistically concerned; yes.

While there was something just off about the whole team last night (maybe the activation level Babcock likes to talk about), the Ducklings still only managed to sneak a couple in the net, and one was pretty darn lucky while the other was a good deflection.

I have absolutely no doubt in my mind the wings will do enough to win the game and series. They WILL play well enough, they WILL create enough good scoring chances, in fact I believe they WILL dominate the game. Its just a case of the puck finding the back of the net.

With the exception of the puck bouncing of a Ducklings foot and in (game 1 I think) the wings have not had many fortuitous bounces while the Ducks have had 3 or 4 (and that "call" in game 3 that still aggravates me).

When concerned in times like these, I like to look and see how the neutral sees the game.

When I checked this morning, the Red Wings were still strong favorites to win the Stanley cup with odds of 3.5:1, Boston 2nd with 5:1 odds. The Ducks were dead last with odds of 11.5:1.

I read that as the rest of the sporting world give the wings the best chance of winning the series - which calms me down a little.

Just like in every game 7, its going to come down to who wants it more. I believe the Wings are going to win this game and advance. If they don't, well, they will have no one to blame but themselves.

Why? Dudes panicking. Lets help him out.

This is a game 7. Game 7's are special. You are going to see both teams throw it all out onto the ice. It's gonna be ugly and nasty. This is what the playoffs are all about. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Like a wise man once said... "You pay for the whole seat... but you'll only need the edge." :P

Technically you need the whole seat so you could use the edge :P:)

With my butt, the whole seat is merely an edge.

I'm not panicked. I will not say that I'm over-confident, though.

If the Wings play like we know the Wings can, it's in the bag. If the puck takes a bad bounce, the refs call back a goal on us, or overlook Duck penalties, or any of the little things that can and do go wrong- well, let's just say that the best team may not win this series.

We've seen what happens when the Wings come out slovenly, and we've seen what happens when they come out with fire in their bellies. If the end of last night's game doesn't give them something to prove, nothing will.

I foresee that they will come out with a vengeance.

Actually, the Ducks have kind of stunk up the joint. One line has done all the work for them and they've been severely outshot and outhit in this series, and they've taken the 3rd period off for every game.

That's why so many people are frustrated that this is going the distance.

Someone else said it best in one of the other threads: We practically didn't even show up for Game 3 or Game 6 and very easily could have still won either of those games. Home ice advantage will be HUGE for this game, particularly after the Ducks just got spanked at the Joe in Game 5 (even worse than the score indicated, IMO).

I don't care about what seed they are because NHL seeding is B.S. Anaheim was scarier to me than any team in the West, including San Jose, and here we are with a chance to take them down in a single game at home. Ozzie has been playing great, Franzen has continued to amaze, and if even one of our 3 superstar forwards puts a puck in the net, I love our chances. We're also long overdue for a goal from the point.

It doesn't get any better than this, and there's no other club in the NHL I'd rather have as a fan in this situation than ours. Let's go Wings!

anyone else worried that we will not get out of this series???? it is now just a best of one game you know...

Damn and here I thought it was a best of 6 series. So what your telling me is that if we lose tomorrow we will be out of the playoff's and if we win we move to the WCF? Amazing....
